Anyone used the new Eventide Rotary plug-in yet? Sounds interesting, but it's hard to tell from their demo's. I wish they had more straight organ demo's instead of spacey stuff.... Looks pretty good though. Might buy it.....
Still looking for "the one". I suppose I should just give up and use my 122. LOL

I hope it's cool, but a recent experience has enlightened me that I'd be hard convinced that there's any substitute for the real thing. I wanted a Leslie effect on a guitar solo on my band's new record and I tried to figure out how to do it ITB and nothing sounded right. Luckily FM drumsound was kind enough to run the track through his Leslie setup for me and send it back to me. Man o man, its soooo good. If I ever find a proper speaker on CL for cheap, I'm snagging it.

I like the Melda best out of the ITB versions I’ve tried but I’ve used real ones enough not to be under any illusion it’s the same magic.

Yeah, there's nothing like the real thing. But occasionally I just need a rotating fix. It's a pita to hook up the Leslie and track for one little part. I wish I had a way to leave it mic'd up and ready, but that's just not in the cards for me. I have a vague remembrance that I bought the Melda at some point. Need to go hunt that down....

It’s good, worth checking out. I always use it with B5 instead of the built-in one. I have it’s slow/fast set to toggle on my MIDI controller. Works well. I use it (the Melda) on other stuff all the time too. Piano, BGVs, guitar, etc.

Has anyone tried the Goodhertz one? I’ve been tempted to give it a shot, but haven’t tried it yet.

Then call me when you need someone to haul away that old 122

I did the recording after class and offered any class member who wanted to hang out they could hear the the Leslie in practice. The 2 or 3 that stayed were completely flabbergasted. The recording is cool, but actually being in the physical presence of things through a Leslie is magic. We then put the Hammond in line and the smiles on their faces were amazing.

The dudes in my band flipped out too when I first played it for them. It's so rad. Really makes that track for me.

Has anyone tried the Goodhertz one? I’ve been tempted to give it a shot, but haven’t tried it yet. All those Goodhertz plugins are very good. I don't know of their rotary plugin, but their tremelo called Trem Control is awesome.

VB-3 I've got a Leslie in the studio but often I go for the GSI VB-3 rotary effect. It can run separate from the organ as it's own effect.

I've not really been impressed with many of the Eventide demo videos lately. This one looks like it has the right options, but the sounds were kind of blah generic sounding. I did wonder if it was the material, though, because a company like that has a great rep for their sounds.
In other news… Klevgrand just came out with a new plugin called Spin. It's not suggesting that it's an authentic Leslie or anything like that, but it's interesting. Multi-band rotating modulation!
Seems like a good tool to get freaking on some parts and not others.
