I recently put pro Q 3 on my soon to buy list after demoing it and am debating their mastering bundle that adds their L2, MB and C2 to the Pro Q 3 , ....which leads me to wonder, which fab filter plugs are ones you still use in most every mix and which ones did you replace with something else after using them for awhile ?
Thanks, Mike

I got the mastering bundle about four years ago and I still love all of them.

I don’t own the MB or C2, but Q3 gets used a ton and I use L2 as my mastering limiter for every song. The gate and DS are also excellent, but get used less.

Once you start using ff, you don’t stop, but do add other plugs to compliments them .

L2 and Q3. Lesser is MB and DS, and then their Gate. All great stuff.

I also have their reverb. It's really fun to play with. I really want to get the De-esser, gate, and saturn at some point.

I use Q3 on everything. Tend to use the dynamic eq all the time...since that I use MB less...also use DS a lot.

I need to try the dynamic mode in Q3 more often. Where do you guys like to use it?

Honestly, all of them.
Pro-Q, MB, DS, C, and L all get frequent use over here. Pro-G is the best gate I've ever used, hands down.
Saturn is AWESOME. Definitely a sleeper. It's easily my favorite saturation tool.

I have Q3, C2 and L2. Good stuff, for sure. Though I think I prefer DMG Trackcomp over C2. Curious to try DMG Limitless and see how that compares to L2. FF is good stuff.

Thanks very much for the feedback guys, I appreciate it!
Do I remember reading somewhere that Fabfilter is one of those Co's that puts a coupon code for a percentage off your next purchase each time you buy one of their products,(If so how much?) and that the percentage off grows larger for multiple plug purchases, or am I thinking of another Co.? - I'm just wondering if I'm better off waiting for a sale on the mastering bundle or buying them one at a time using coupon codes?

Recently got the Q3. It's pretty incredible. I'm finding all sorts of creative uses for it, and it does normal EQ'ing and more forensic level stuff really well too. I use the Pro-G gate a lot as well. Very flexible.
EDIT: I also successfully used the EQ-match feature on the Q3. Excited that it worked. I had a singer come back wanting to re-cut a part. I didn't document the settings from the previous session, because I thought we were done. Anyways... the newer takes were a good bit brighter and less dense in the low mids than the previous ones, and only for 1/2 of one song. So I took a stab at it, and it's pretty incredible how well it worked. Out of context you can tell it's a little different, but in context, it's virtually indistinguishable once processing is applied. Figure it's worth mentioning. Pretty incredible feature.

Hope I'm remembering this correctly: They don't run many sales. But the more plugs you buy in a single purchase, they knock off a bigger percentage with each one. So I own Q3. If I bought one today it would be 14% off list. If I bought a second one, that one would be 40% off. A third one would be 45% off. A fourth one would be 50% off. Etc. It doesn't matter which ones you buy, the percentage builds up with volume.

Q3, Pro-L2, Pro-MB, Pro-G, and Saturn are used all the time here. C2 gets some use as well, mostly for when I want clean compression. Also a big DMG fan.

I need to try the dynamic mode in Q3 more often. Where do you guys like to use it? All over. Room mics to dampen cymbals has been a godsend, especially. Also saved my ass on a way-to-clanky bass sound just last week. Overheads where one cymbal has weird shitty overtones, vocals that are too harsh or muddy, but only in certain parts, managing mud in guitars on palm muting parts.... all sorts of uses. I switch over to the Oxford Dynamic EQ if I need a more fully featured option, but so far the Q3 has been intuitive and worked well, so I've been using the Ox less.

Yeah the threshold is a little touchy and no attack/release...but I love it. I actually use the dynamic eq more than actually making cuts.
