theshea some other really nice clean comps to look at are TDR Kotelnikov, currently on sale for $24 at Plugin Boutique, and Jon V FirComp which is only $30 for the full version (V2). I'm going to buy Fir Comp V2 this week for sure. Both are "bargains" and first reach compressors at the same time. That FirComp is very impressive, even the free version. Very versatile despite the limited controls. Does fast attack well. Sorry, off topic!

downloaded the unisum demo and – what can I say – it's totally transparent! even with 3-4db of GR. switching it on/off i couldn't hear it working, but it did compress like 3-4db. but: i can get kotelnikov 97% the same, so i think i will pass on unisum and save the money. kontelnikov is great for clean/invisible compression/mastering. but the presets are really great in unisum: they do give a great insight what's possible with this plugin and all presets do sound good indeed. those presets are worth the price alone, apart from the sound which is really always just superb. that's what's setting it apart from kotelnikov in my opinion, which is also rather flexible, but unisum is another level in flexibility. but i gotta stop here, maybe i will buy it in the future or after some more demo time ... ;-)

Better bright 1176 than PA Purple, Arousor, and Pulsar 78 despite being a feedforward mastering compressor. Try Molot GE. It’s out of this world.

After living with Unisum for a week and a few masters, I like it even more. What a badass processor this thing is.

Agreed, 100% no buyer’s regret.

I am still demoing it. But I will resist buying it as I have Kotelnikov and would end up using only one of them. Although, everytime I put Unisum on, even only in default setting, I don't know how to explain it, it sounds absolutely transparent, clean AND with a sweet sound ...

Hygge is bright without sounding crappy, digital, or aliased. Very nice compliment to Kotelnikov’ yin-yang and whatever the hell Molot does but I can’t swing the money now for something that’s so unintuitive.
