The Tokyo Dawn Labs and related Vlad G and Variety of Sound plugins are pretty much as good as plugins get for functional, well-designed tools. No console strip analog emulations where half the functions don’t behave correctly and no infinite customization like Reaper and Fabfilter plugs to confuse you. The Qs on Slick EQ and Variety of Sound eqs are super well designed. The saturation isn’t a one dimensional caricature of analog gear. The timbre is slightly different on the Vlad G versions vs Tokyo Dawn. Check them out.

That TDE dynamic eq is awesome for problem solving squeaky acoustic guitar strings.

OK, I feel like I am cheating with the NOVA GE but it is working very well. Perhaps I am noosing it and getting lucky.
1. I learn form the track 2. I use pink noise as a reference 3. I choose dynamic unresonate and apply
I do this before any emulations or EQ's and the result seems to be a fairly flat track that takes EQ very well to polish - add a little top, perhaps remove a little low mids, etc.
Anyone else use it this way?
EDIT: this is something I am using for live recording and album production. If a studio thing, I would be making sure we got it right in the take. I don't have that luxury on the live tracks.

That will remove fundamentals and is best used to nail down the exact frequencies of problematic resonances you’re already hearing. Sweeping is usually faster too. If you stick with everything the Smart Ops tells you, you’ve microwaved a track into sterility.
