But blueberry through a retro sta level..

Who has experience with this mic on vocals? Thoughts?

It's been a long time since I used one, but if memory serves, I found it too breathy and hyped up top for my tastes. Again, it's been a long time, so I may have forgotten...

Not sure i’d qualify it as ‘special’, but yes a very good vanilla.
Gets the job done without being too harsh....popular in the hiphop/pop circles.

Seems like a good vocal LDC, for not so good sounding rooms. 2" to 4", general recommended singing distance. Chris |

I have the B8 cap here for my Bottle Rocket Stage II. It’s similar to the B6 cap which comes with the Big Bottle and is on the Kiwi. It just feels a little blander than the B6. That said, a friend of mine used a Blueberry on a pop album he did and it sounded fantastic. I’m a fan of the Kiwi personally, especially through a tube preamp. I imagine the Crispness of the Blueberry with the added richness of the STA is a great combo that cuts, but still feels big.

Never did the blueberry but had really good acoustic bass tracks with the Mouse. I wish I still had it.
