I finally got a chance to listen to all the samples. The M1 reminds me a bit of a cross between the M49 and U67. The top end reminded me of the M49, but it was more neutral as a whole like the U67. Just my thoughts from what I was hearing. Which is what an M269 sounds like . . . And someone above said. . . The more I listen to the samples. the more I think this way and the more I want the M1

Yes Vincent-suits my taste! And once the microphones hit this kind of sonic level... I would need to have a "real" Pro choose one of these uber-mics, since they usually know, which one is best in the Mix. (U67/M49/C12/U47/etc.) I'm glad I got to test all those Heiserman based microphones- especially now-they seem a killer deal! Chris

The more I listen to the samples. the more I think this way and the more I want the M1 I really don't get that feel. I have only a little experience with an actual M269c, but owned the RMS269 for a year. In my opinion the top end of a 269 is much more open. It's more like a U67 with a smiley face EQ, giving you more low mid beef, but also more air. The M1 has a mellowness about the top end which reminds me of my FleA 49, but and evenness in the low end that reminds me of my MK U67 with the Neumann transformer. Just my thoughts anyway. Sounds like a good mic though.

I listened to those samples a lot on various systems Interesting mic. Extended lows..initially sounds very nice, open although compared to the 47,67 there is something in the high mids on some sources that kinda bugged my ears.(sax violin).slightly hard and pokey,as where the Neumann’s by nature might sound a little darker, the mids and upper mids are real smooth and even kinda compressed.sounds like a record etc That said I asked VKLA for demo. None out here yet.
