So what are people preferences / uses with these units?
With the LC25 I know i could shape a kick nicely.
And I imagine that pulling 10k and pushing 20k on the LC40 would be nice for vocal air. But what do you all prefer? Which one and why?

I can only speak to the LC25, but it's been continuing to impress me as I get to know it's strengths more. I especially love the midrange bands on bass, so thusfar, it's lived there when I'm mixing. It's been a game changer for me in that application, frankly.
For tracking, it's been great on vocals especially. It's been hit or miss for me on bass drum and guitar (I prefer continuous pots for more gentle boost/cut here), but when it works, it's nice. I think I would prefer the frequency points on the LC40 for bass drum, but who knows. I should get one and find out I suppose.
Fun build too. Pretty challenging, but not too bad.
Mine has the 1731 DOA in it.

I've got both and I like em. I end up using the 25 more though, but both are great. Don't use either for "air". There are better tools for that I think. Very versatile, and easily recallable.
