This is the first Sta-Level plug I've seen...be interesting to see how it compares... A dynamic emulation with some special features thanks to power of digital: - stereo/split stereo - auto release option - mid/side mode - emphasis filters Under testing this week, available as 32/64 bit VST and AU, Win/Mac, march 31 on www.sknote.itMSRP 29.99$ *** NOTE *** Our GTS-39 is a completely different thing, being developed after Gates Sa39 tube limiter, its "grand-father". GTS-39 is special for its smooth and huge compression curve and special dynamics, really transparent on bass, vocals and a lot of other sources, colorful when pushed hard.

I just noticed that it says "digital edition" on the GUI. Wonder if that's a hint that sknote is coming out with a hardware version?

Awesome price. I'd hate to love it and have another reason to not move to PT11 when I am getting so close.

Funny, I was wondering when this might show up somewhere. For those of us with budgets that don't permit Sta-Levels at this point, it could be great. Now, I already have.. let's see… uhh.. a lot of limiters.. UAD 1176's, UAD LA2's, Fatso, Wave's Kramer, CLA, Maserati, JJP bundles, L1,L2,L3, One Knob, Limiters within SSL EQ's, then, Slate's VBC, and finally A.O.M's limiter, ( the best of the bunch), and lest I forget, the Slate FG-X that was promised to me personally three times to be working in 64 bits by "Spring" 2013! That will eventually return as Fg-X 2, so…. do I really need another plug-in limiter, … of course I do ;-)
Now, who the heck is "sknote", has anyone had dealings with them yet? I've become hesitant to work with foreign companies, as communications can be difficult, even with the best intentions. I've had serious breakdowns due to iLok issues with ReLab, A.O.M is from Japan, and when there's a small issue, it's tricky getting it fixed, taking way more emails than should be necessary.
I've loved what I've heard of the Sta-Level so far, Cowboy's mixes took a leap forward when he got one. This is one thing I plan to eventually get the hardware piece, but… if this thing really gets close, and is only $30, it might be great, allowing me to give my LA2 a little rest now and then.
If someone here gets this, please keep us posted on your impressions. I looked at the site, and it appears you can buy it now, but I'm not confident you can, and then wonder if they've got the installation thing together yet for 64 bit Logic. I'm crossing my fingers and rooting for this to be good.

I don't know why UA hasn't done this one...I would have thought a deal with Retro would be killer. But maybe Phil Moore doesn't want to get into plugs...I wonder how plugs effect hardware sales? It would be interesting to know...Although, I would think you stand to make a ton more with software sales and it would be an advertisement for the hardware...

Like i said before, everything he makes is amazing. I just grabbed the DDD(Dimension D) plugin and it's unreal. He's very responsive with any issues and just a straight up cool guy.

Good to know that deehope. If this thing is even close to the Sta, it'll be a great help to me. I'm out of DSP power and any chance to skip an LA2 instance is a big help.

Hi Guys! I'm Quinto from SKnote, I've been pointed to this forum by a friend. Yes, Sta-Limit is very nice and we're having quite some fun with fine-tuning...

A general answer to a question I got: no, we are not going to model Sta-level in hardware. No hardware emulations of anything planned here. With hw I prefer to design crazy new original things So the label "digital edition" is referred to the beautiful hw edition by Retro ("gold edition"). I met somebody from them in NY at AES 2013 and it was great I hope they are not going to hate us for this one, but I know they know digital emulations cannot compromise hw world (they can help, if anything). I know somebody here owns the hw device. Some shootout here would be really great.

I've been interested in DDD and now I'm really excited about the Sta Level. Any idea when RTAS or AAX 32 bit will be released for these plugs? I'm working in PT10. Thanks!
