This posting from Pure mix seemed to come up in a way that fits right in here. From F. Reid Shippen's mixing video, he shows his "air" trick using an EQ and Limiter in iZotope Nectar 2. Nectar 3 is actually set up a little different, so I'm eager to test this out and see some results that just let me know what options are if the mix calls for this sort of thing. Yes! Finally at long last! A piece of GREAT information! Thank you!

Avedis E27 hardware?
For that matter, whatever became of the Avedis E27 plugin from PSP?
I know people have always talked about the "air" available on the hardware. Supposedly the plugin was supposed to be able to do the same. I heard there were CPU/stability issues when the plugin was released.
I haven't heard ANYBODY talking about the plugin in a good while. For that matter, I haven't heard much chatter about the hardware in a while either.

You know...people spend all this time looking at "mixing"... "tricks" and "secrets" on YouTube....and I'm like get the fundamentals....there ARE no "tricks" that can be used more than say 1 in 50 situations, thus....there's certainly no "trick" that's going to turn your smash fest into some record you love.... ....but, that clip might prove me wrong. Lovely technique. So lovely that it's super easy to overdo.

Yeah, it is certainly a simple approach, yet one I personally have not seen anyone do before.
I don't get hung up on language like tricks or secrets. If you want to learn seek it all out and I think you can ascertain pretty quickly who is offering information that is worth your time.
I'd been working in Logic for a few years, yet when I happened upon "MusicTechHelpGuy"'s logic series on YouTube, he laid it out in a way that put several workflows together for me. Not so much a revelation. I had been doing fine. But just a lot of tricks for getting things to work for you easier, all built in to a deep platform like Logic.
