Matt was kind enough to give me a guesstimate today. But I suppose it's better to let him respond directly.
Just wanted to say IMHO ALL the Heiserman capsule based microphones (including UT47 FET) are exceptional sounding. And each sound "different enough" to have somewhat different personalities-but keep the Family sound.
Not that many manufacturers, have this kind of quality consistency throughout their line up. Chris

What’s the price point for this? We’re not quite ready to announce the price. But I can say with confidence that it’ll be less than $1,000.

Money burning a hole you say? Have a chat with the Wave Dealer about the Type 19 from Heiserman - incredibly impressive mic for acoustic instruments and backing vocals! Not to derail this thread, but Ward, whats your experience with the Heiserman Type 19? I'm really interested in that mic. I'm wondering how it compares to a Gefell umt70. They seem similar in concept...u47 capsule in a transformerless circuit...but I'm guessing they both do their own thing. I'm thinking of getting rid of my SDC pair for something like that. Think of Neumann U89 versus TLM170 They are very similar microphones, but the U89 has a transformer and thus more smear and low-end/weight. The Type-19 has less proximity, low-mid, mud & smear. It's small and can be positioned as easily as you can position and microphone that can fit in the palm of your hand. Galdang it, it's quite the utility mic. My experience with it is hands-on with the prototypes. I don't have my final versions yet . . . but will soon enough!

Really curious how these would sound on piano... anyone tried by chance?
Will these be available soon?

I could be crazy, but I thought I saw them in stock at front end audio at one point (wouldn't be surprised if this memory is very unreliable though).
I know at the moment, everything is out of stock at the Heiserman site though.

Thanks for the interest! We've been super busy moving to a new workshop. As for the Type-19, we've kind of done a 'soft launch' since Front End was interested in selling them -- although I'm not sure if they have any in stock right now. They'll be at Vintage King in the near future as well. We're not selling them on our site yet, but if you'd like to order directly, let me know and I can arrange it. It's a roughly 10 day lead time on these. The Type-19's sound awesome on piano for a bit more mid-focused sound compared to something like a 414.
