That new OwnHammer pack is ridiculous. It’ll take me a lifetime to go through it all. And it was only 30 bucks. I also hear Hislop IR’s are supposed to be really good. What’s the ‘new’ one? I’m going to buy a couple of his packs. (r)Evolution - entire bundle 29.99

I was going to buy the Alnico Blue Vox pack and the Deluxe Reverb pack but this has some of both of those in it. It's a little unclear on the site, how much variation is there for each cab in the (r)Evolution pack?

York Audio Packs are really good too. Yeah you're not the first person to recommend those. I didn't like the demo pack too much but I don't love the cab it was based on in real life so it's probably just that.

With the bundle, you get all 8 speaker/cabs, plus 4 extra multi speaker/cab combos, a bunch of single mic IR's, multi-mic IR's, voicing variations, distance (I think) and their 500ms TrueStereo format (whatever that means).

Cool, are people experimenting with other pedals used with this: distortion ?

Cool, are people experimenting with other pedals used with this: distortion ? Yeah, I run my pedalboard into the Iridium. And have also been experimenting with putting delay/verb after it.

I've had my Iridium for 4 months now - liking it more and more - I run two pedals into the Iridium. A J. Rockett Blue Note overdrive - into a Source Audio True Spring reverb. The Iridium is cabled into a LTL Silver Bullet tone amp which then goes stereo into an Audient ID 44 interface...( and Into an Imac/Logic Pro X)
This set up replaces my miked tube amp that I used for recording prior. This newer Iridium setup/with pedals is versatile and more productive for me in my situation. (Not that I did not like my tube amp). lately, I've also run my short scale electric bass into the iridium and pedals/Silver Bullet - rather than the Audient ID 44 D.I.

I have three J Rockett pedals... A silver Archer, an Animal, and the Dude that I use with my Iridium. I love using the Animal with the Marshall sim because it is also a plexi type pedal and they blend seamlessly to make a great combo. The Dude sounds especially great into the Deluxe sim and the Archer..well, it’s just secret sauce that can work as an extra “crunch” channel. The Iridium seems like it was made for pedals. Edited to add that I also use a Strymon Flint reverb/tremolo pedal that is equally awesome.

Just noticed that the Boss Katana MK II Head is less price than the Strymon Iridium, and it also works as an amp simulator / direct box. And so much more, obviously.
That's my logic anyway. Yeah, it's bigger. But I just ordered one.
I used the MK I version on my album I released a couple years ago, into a Wolfbox.
I use the MK II 50 W combo amp as my main amp for in-house jam sessions. So yeah, I think they sound great.

Nice sounds. The guitar on the left has a real Doobies "Listen to the Music" vibe.

Another bonus of having all these excellent OwnHammer IRs is I now like the Punch (Marshall) a lot. I don't do any high gain stuff but paired with other cabs, I love its tone. Really classic.
I wasn't ever using it with the stock cabs.

I have a technical question that I thought had been answered earlier in the thread but I cannot find it or overlooked it in the thread. The Round setting does not seemed to be level matched to the same volume as the Chime and Punch settings. Is there a fix for it being lower volume?

I think I like one. Or two. Not three.
But that’s the order I first listened. I think that probably matters.
Cheers, Geoff
