I was lucky enough to buy 8 Advanced within 30 days before 9 came out so they gave me the upgrade. I really liked 8 advanced but like 9 even better. So much so it makes me wonder now how good are Nectar and Neutron?

I bought 8 Advanced a few months ago. I don't even want to look at version 9. Heck, I haven't even used 8 on a single mix yet. But then again, I'm kind of a junkie and at some point I will "have" to upgrade.

Demoing it this week, really like the functionality.
I own Elements 8 and RX7
Not sure if I will spring for this though.....
I did a huge comparison between Ozone, Aria Mastering, and using that new Analog Matrix Service, Silver Bullet, SSL Fusion.... trying to work out which way to go forward with this Album......
I still havent decided, but dollars to sonic value, its hard to walk passed Ozone 9
Cheers

It might not hurt to send customer service an email saying you bought 8 advanced a few months ago and can they help ,..... if they didn't comp you up to 9, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave you a special low price for your circumstance. It couldn't hurt to see what they'd say.

They were kind enough to give me the upgrade - I was mid August
I have the production bundle, so will try out tonal balance interactions and report back

I have the production bundle, so will try out tonal balance interactions and report back Have had a flu OK, so it is handy being able to change things from one window, but if you already have an eq on another channel, it's only saving you opening that... For my workflow, that's basically adding 'fancy metering' I like the individual plugins in the bundle, they have some cool stuff I see myself using Ozone the most Sorry this isn't more helpful.. // edit: adding a screenshot

I guess I don't find their individual processors to be that special. I am more interested in the "smart" auto stuff and the Tonal Balance Control, things that are different from processors that I already have multiples of.
Neutron and Ozone aren't going to replace a normal mixing chain, or mix bus chain for me. But things like Nectar with the auto EQ I find very helpful. I am really curious about the new auto features in Ozone 9 I will have to demo them.
The Exponential Audio reverb plugins I find very special, and love to use. A couple of those are included with the $399 bundle (discount for owning any izotope product) that also includes all the main izotope plugins. You can get a discount on some of these bundles at JRR Shop.
I am not sure if I am going to spend on these since I am happy enough with the Elements bundle and the Reverbs that I already have. Going up to RX 7 Standard would be a big move too, these seem to be the premier noise correction plugins on the market.
Just my .2 cents on the izotope products right now

I sent Izotope and email about getting a reduced price on the update, since I just got version 8 a few months ago. They made me a deal that was good enough to take the plunge, though I'm not sure when I will use it. I used to do my own mastering but since sending stuff out to be mastered, I haven't had much need for Ozone. But as usual, I couldn't resist a good deal. :-)

Well, I held out until now. But just demoed it and it’s an improvement for sure. Limiter seems better and the low end thing is great. Gonna have to buy.

i am testing it right now and while i am no mastering engineer, i gotta say that the mastering assistant with a reference track got really really close to my attempt at mastering a track. i am impressed.

I've been recording classical for years, but mastering is a new muscle for me to work on. Since I retired I've had a chance to work that muscle. Of course I have a relationship with iZotope, so it was natural for me to start with Ozone 9. But I've got to say I'm impressed with what I'm getting. I have several years of concerts for a chamber group here in SLC and I've been mastering those recordings for a podcast we've begun. Ozone, in conjunction with the Insight metering plugin, has been working well. It's easy to use and the operation is very transparent. Some of the ensemble stuff with piano can be a challenge to the dynamics module, but it's really hard to hear it even when it's working hard. And of course iZotope has a lot of online mastering tutorials with Jonathan Wyner--that's pretty much worth the price of admission right there.

Ozone 9 is on every mix I do. One of the best finishing plugins I've used.

How effective do you find the metering built-in with it that shows a full frequency response output (a real time display) to what goes in and what comes out? Like, how does it do showing differences? Just curious what's application specific.

For those that are using this - do you use it for mastering, or are you using it and then also sending it off for mastering?
