I usually don't ask about opinions on gear, but I get the chance to buy one of these channelstrips for quite cheap.
The EQ section looks a bit fiddly and hard to adjust if you don't have a routine in using it. I had one in hand a few years ago, but didn't really have the chance to test it properly.
Any comments on the sound it can deliver ? There aren't many videos or demo tracks online.

I had about a day with one. Honestly, with manual in hand, it was SUPER confusing to adjust and get what I wanted out of the eq. I still am not sure exactly how it works.
I’m sure it’s amazingly flexible if you spend some time with it, but gosh I just had to move on to something else.
Take a look at the online manual and see if what it can do even seems to interest you.

The UTA MPEQ-1 is a great piece of gear. It is indeed very powerful and can be somewhat confusing. However, it's not necessary to use all that power and flexibility. It's capable of operating like pretty much every EQ you've ever used. The owner's manual gives settings/starting points for emulating API 550, Neve 1073, and a couple others. Basically, once you've set the "shape" control to something you're already familiar with, the gain, frequency, and Q controls work just as you think they would. The boost/cut/notch switch is pretty self-explanatory if you just avoid the "notch" setting. So, while there is no end to the experimenting that can be done, operation can be simplified so you can work quickly. The unit sounds amazing. The mic pre is worth the cost of admission all it's own. I had a chance to buy one of the first batch of these babies, and I'm still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger. I hope to purchase one or two at some point. I found the owner's manual at this site: www.undertoneaudio.com/support

Yes, reading the Manual a few times beforehand definately makes sense. The EQ can get quite complicated with the shape knob and the parallel / series band interaction. I just have bought the unit and it will be here at place soon. Looking forward to test it.

The unit came in today and I think it's going to be a keeper. The DI has lots of headroom for bass and keyboard and the filters sound great. The EQ is not really easy to adjust, but that was to be expected. It takes some time to learn how the shape control interacts with the Q factor.

I've noticed the MPEQ-1 isn't on their web site currently. My guess is the EQ baffled a lot of people, and they definitely are complicated, but they sure do sound amazing though and the filters are wonderful and can do anything. I'll bet the MPDI-4 sales beat it tenfold, since everybody knows how to use a mic pre, and it is one of the best.
