The exceptional tone of the voice and microphone is still evident. I'm impressed with MJB picking it out, more specifically than me. I sensed "something" sonically, but I did put it down to YT compression. Chris

If i just hear the m7 i think i would have like it. Bit when you hear the 47 it just has a hint more presence and adds that bit more. The 67 sounded a little thin in comparison. Both Heisermann’s have more weight to the sound. Nice.

Only listened on cans. I hear what Martin is saying about the congestion, so I might have to get the files and give them a listen. I preferred the Heiserman with the M7 followed by the U67. You could make any of them work though. They all sounded warm and present.

Everyone who messaged emailed texted or called me has a copy of the 4 vocal files now.
Anyone else?

Thanks for the kind offer Ward. I can "tell enough", to know if/when I'd ever get a U47 tube Heiserman, it'd be with the "Crooner" M7 head. If I also sang/recorded harder Classic Rock, I'd get the K47 capsule too, for more cut.
For the discerning Studio, that can afford it, getting both capsules, covers a ton of bases IMHO. Chris

And one more thang... IMHO the U47, particularly with the K47 capsule, is way WAY underated for Modern Hip Hop/R&B/Rap/Pop. The usual suspects are usually emphasized. Ala Sony C800G/Ref C/U87ai. And-of course Ward's favorite. (Drum machine drumroll please)... The mighty SM7! But as I re-listen to old/new recordings done on a quality U47 style tube mic... IMHO that kind of mic, is equally suitable. And you try to get the "Kids" (under 40) to believe that. Chris

The last thing I need or want is to have prices driven up further.
In fact, they should listen here - THE SM7B IS THE BEST HIP-HOP VOCAL MIC!
There, that should do it.....
BTW, what's the point of using a great mic like a U47 if you're just going to Ottotune the crap out of it?

U87 is the best traditional hip hop vocal mic. Preferably into a 1073/84. Or perhaps I should say it's the most widely used and successful mic. Then again, what the **** do I know about hip hop.

Believe me, I've witnessed it on numerous occasions.

It’s What keeps “ the circle of used 87’s at GC “ in motion. A guy who spent a number of years told me how in 3 years he bought and sold 1 87 4 times, another 5 times and one 7 times, all to hip hop clients. One upgraded to a Manley Gold, the rest of the clients realized the music biz ain’t easy.
