If you buy any UAD plugin, the demos start over.

I use my pair for drums more than anything. I can really carve a sound out that I'm shooting for without it sounding like the phase is shifting tons.

I use UFIP cymbals here. All hand made and nothing short of breathtaking in the studio. I spent an entire day with the USA Ufip rep in my studio choosing the ideal cymbals for my studio drum set and my drum room where they are recorded. I've never heard any cymbals that sound better to me or I'd own them.

I am a big fan of the RTZ racks. They are more expensive than most, but they are built to go to war and have fans drawing cool air across all of the modules, making them last longer and run at optimum for years and years.

I have a 76B, but Jim Gilmore is slowly converting it to a stereo, like the Sun console.

Notice how even that the player is playing, the quality of their instrument and the absence of any compression or eq artifacts. I look forward to when these recording techniques come back envogue a whole lot. Do you realize how much work that is? Kids these days don't have time for that kind of work. You're stuck with us old fogies trying to keep our chops up. Oh, believe me, I teach and preach...

RTZ 9762 first, Telefunken V-72 second. I was impressed by your RTZ EQ demo. I'll check out their preamp, though I read it's based on a Neve, though not exactly. I have 4 Vintech's. So, I feel like I've got that ground covered, looking for something different. Most definitely different than a Vintech sounds.

RTZ 9762 first, Telefunken V-72 second. Do you have V72's or V72a's? I have a pair of V-72's and one V-72a.

RTZ 1549's and also Clariphonic as needed. The RTZ are stepped, so they get the go to status. I mostly use the Clariphonic for perc buss and things like mandolins and other acoustic instruments. If I tracked it, I usually don't have to reach for anything as I get it on the way in, but I mix a lot of things I didn't track, too, and it comes in handy when you need that certain glossy thing it does so well.

Cubase 9 has been rock solid with Windows 10 here. Some of the changes take a minute to figure out, but all in all, it's going well here.

As a former WI , I mean "New Germany" the beer selection at NAMM Sucks ! Who's talking about drinking at NAMM?? There are other places to go!! I can't go this year, but I drink @ Namm and later on, at the events...Lol! It's my vacation from the studio and I tend to live it up while I can. I have the studio booked this year, so no Namm this time.

Curious, Ward , what kind of policy do you have? I need to up mine and they were only willing to do an inland marine policy which was insanely expensive. It's because my gear comes and goes with me to other studios, so, it's leaving the premises at times. I am also going to start renting gear when I'm not using it to make it further pay for itself, so, I'd need insurance for that, too. Randy find an independent agent, agents who are tied to one company don't offer many options. Lloyds will write a policy for just about anything, the cost might kill you! On the claims side while everybody else was waiting on their payouts after Ike I had my checks from Lloyds months before anybody else! I thank my lucky stars that my agent had all my policies through Lloyds! All of the independent agencies here were really expensive and after quoting me, they came back and said "we aren't able to do that policy after all", as it's an inland marine and they weren't allowed to do them. Much like my 12 passenger van insurance, they can't handle that either.

And they have strong ties to Lloyds of London. They have an office near you, in Frankfort KY. But, my account manager is the one who set me up... so, I dunno. It seemed so straightforward and they handled it. And it's CHEAP. as in well under a half point a year. I'll check it out. The other quotes I received were for more than a new Zener Limiter per year, so, that wasn't gonna be an option.

Well, I know the studio gear is currently on the books with the insurance company for $525,000 So sheer amount? Yeah, I feel ya Curious, Ward, what kind of policy do you have? I don't like them on guitar cabs, snare, vocals or really anything people tend to use them for. I have tried and tried with preamp after preamp. They just don't sound clear and wide to me no matter what I do. If you HPF them to where the congestion goes away, then they have no balls. I'm just not a fan.
