Yes but it is a great tool, but without the H3000 electronics, it doesn’t have that 80’s vocal sound we all know.

I hope the H3000 is the next plug that gets the MKII treatment. I mean, as long as they're revisiting the older plugs like the phaser / flanger...

I use it all the time still. One of these days they’ll do an MKII that emulates more of the whole process. It’s always my first choice for going on the stereo vocal bus. It’s easier for me to fit into a mix more than the other usual plugins of that sort.

I thought about this one pretty hard... decided to skip.
I demo'd it before and didn't love it too much. The interface and graphics are 10 years old now.
Money is needed for a Mix Pre 6 and other hardware.
There are three other options here - Yamaha EMP700 hardware, Eventide UltraChannel (for stereo pitch), Exponential Audio Excalibur which I need to dig into and learn more deeply.
I will buy the MK II when and if it comes out.

Was it a pitch shift, or something else? I'm curious, as the H3000 hardware is one of those classic pieces of gear which I've never owned, or worked with, but have always been curious about acquiring. Lots of "the cult of eventide" people over at GS, but not sure if it's people who love U2's "The Edge" and heavy delay guitar and synth sounds and the 80's vocal sound you speak of.

I don’t want to post historically incorrect examples so I’ll describe it, the most common noticeable use was building a wall of backing vocals, it has this pleasant sheen and slightly rounded the peaks so it makes it feel like it’s not just a pitched carbon copy. If you put it through a Neve pre amp by padding the Neves input and driving the output a bit it can just sound huge ! I always had to have at least in one in my FOH rack in the late 80’s because it gave me the vocal sound everybody wanted! The Eventides were also great for fixing that off note here and there, you could do it all on the Lexicon 224 and 300 but it never had that sound, that golden sheen, more and more I think it has as much to do with Dave Der’s electronics as the algorithms. I think I hear it on Whie Snakes “is this love” playing on the Amazon TV spot playing as I type!

I will buy the MK II when and if it comes out. It was updated in 2015, H3000 Factory, about a year after the native 64 bit version rolled out, maybe they'll do another update.. I didn't wrap my head around the original Mod Factory patch construction using just the H3000 display, I was a renter not an owner. I've got a guide for the ugliest Ultra-Harmonizer, the H3000D/SX, around here somewhere, it was the Vai one programmed for Slip of the Tongue and had all the Mod Factory patches. I've been playing with it inserted after some VIs and the sound design patches are very dynamically responsive, it's going to be fun to get into patching MIDI controllers to parameters on this. Definitely a sound creation plug more than a sweetener, but I'm sure I'll find some cool mix candy along the way...

I'm not really great at modular synths or sound design but I should probably try to get better. Good to know they updated it in 2015 somehow I missed that.

From the old school prospective, it’s not tweak compared to trying to do the exact same thing from the front panel of an H3000!😁

They've extended the deal until Monday, so anyone sitting on the fence (like me) has to keep sitting on it a little longer. Think I'm gonna pass though, I am sure it's great but that is one fugly, old school GUI.

It's michael carnes' answer to the multi FX with his own flavor, I'm impressed with it so far. It's also got 4 delay lines, saturation, reverb, and so on it's not as limited as the H3000 plugin.

It's funny, I was a Lexicon deep diver, using Dynamic MIDI and the patchable LFOs a bunch but the Mod Factory broke my brain. I jumped at the chance to slay the virtual dragon. I could do a lot of design on my 300, as well a pair of LXP-5s in my guitar rig, but they always stayed on the "pretty" side. Mod Factory could go total chaos quick, I wasn't an industrial musician and I just didn't put the time into learning it with limited exposure. I still own the Lexi hardware so I passed on the Exponential sales, I guess it all depends where your coming from. I just bought my first hardware synth last year, I'm unearthing lots of passed over opportunities that "weren't my thing" at the time. Mellotron > H3000 Factory is possibly my favorite thing in the world right now.

Cheers, I would but I refuse to do the dongle thing. Or is it dongle free now iZotope bought him out?

My Exponential Audio activations are on my PC not my dongle, so I want to say that machine authorization is an option for these.

I bought it. My engineering mentor has it and uses it a lot so I decided to try it. No way in hell for $349...but $79 ain’t so bad.
