In my case, no. Sweetwater, VK, Front End Audio, Reverb and Audio Scape are my main sources and that has never happened. Front End Audio has done it to me. Have they ever taken your money, not sent you a backorder notification, not responded to your inquiries for a month about what was going and then then spent another month not giving you your money back after you requested a refund?

Sounds like there's a story there. : ) wink wink It's been awhile, but memory was they swore up and down they had the item and it'd ship immediately, then it took a bunch of emails and calls before I got a straight answer, which was "we don't know when it'll be available". The item in question was not in stock anywhere else, and was the reason I inquired very specifically before placing the order. Anyway, there's frequently some version of it.

I for one would really appreciate if people could keep their comments on topic, perhaps people noticed the original sa-67 thread was locked: wonder why ?
This thread is about the newsletter: are your comments?

Right, but I was asking the question specifically of Stam: when it says "In Stock" on their site, is it really in stock? My point is that after going through the SA4000 ordering experience last year and then keeping up with all the dialogue around how they run the business, I'm left with zero trust of what "In Stock" means on their site. i'm guessing, no, it's not in stock. Or maybe. But past experience with people who have bought "in stock" pieces with stam show that it still takes "quite awhile". That's pushed me away from pulling the trigger in the past. I guess in stock means different things to different people. Thanks for this, drbill. Exactly why I was asking and what I wanted to know.

We will change this on the new site
We did not have direct access to our website thus if something was in stock and sold it would take sometimes 2-3 days before removing it
On the new site in stock will mean packed and ready to dispatch the next working day

I'll look for the announcement that the new site is live.

I like Josh’s approach here of publishing a more realistic schedule and keeping it regularly updated: will go a long way to reducing misunderstandings, frustration and needless commmunications and thereby improve customer service.
