I've had Wavelab forever. I mostly use it to do quick start and end edits, apply some mastering (for quick artist masters, not final) and then I burn test CDs.
Over the weekend I was working on a few edits, including adding some limiting for some test CDs and then went to burn a CD. I didn't listen to the CD, as I've done this hundreds of times before. Today, I get a call telling me the track sounds horrible. It's super loud and sizzly. Of course, I'm thinking they are listening on speakers they don't know or some other end user error. Then I got to thinking (never a good sign). I'm thinking Wavelab applied the plugins that were in the master section to the CD being burned. I always thought of the master/editor section and the CD burning section as two different things but there does seem to be a link. Typically when I go to burn a CD, I start Wavelab fresh with nothing in the master section. This weekend I didn't. I look and feel pretty stupid now. I guess I need to double and triple check those CDs before sending them out. doh!

Make a keyboard shortcut for “remove all plugins from master section” to make it easier! (But don’t forget to save a preset first, in case you need to recall.)
