Now if someone could find me an inexpensive source of braided IEC power cables, that would be great. I routinely ditch the ones that come with new equipment in favor of ones made in the 80s and 90s, where the black white and ground wires were braided and/or twisted which cut down on interference Yeah you have to DIY, even if you find somebody who sells what you want, you never know when their supplier switches supplier who switches OEM.

A slight digression but I bought a 100m roll of Canare cable last year and made up a bunch of mic cables for my studio. It was great to get the soldering iron out agin. When coiled (under, over) they look good on the cable hooks on the studio wall. Nice and circular.
Recently I haven't had the time to do any soldering so I bought a couple of cables and the came packed tight in a very folded not coiled manner and now I can't get them to coil right.
Is there an old trick to get store bought cables to coil in smooth circles if they have been sold folded? If no, I guess I'll have to get back to soldering!

It just wraps so well.

Ha, so basically for the studio to look good the planet has to suffer... I’m OK with that :-D

But pollution has to stop.

For instance the whole ban the plastic bag movement, umm Walmart Target and many more are using a bio- degradeable plastic bag ! I reuse these bags everyday when I walk the dogs ! Would it be better to buy a one use dog poop bag? On the Audio front I have boxes of old cables that I have saved for making shorties or striped down and used for jumpers on bays ect, boxes of old wall warts that is always my first destination for a replacement. The recently shut down office furniture/ electronics recycle place was a weekly trip.

We need more infrastructure, as commercial compostables aren’t a “let nature take its course” proposition.

My studio is *completely* wired Canare except for a Mogami here and there for good reason.
Speaking of which I will be pulling out my good ole Weller soldering iron/tool today and making a cable.
Don't you just love the smell of solder in the morning.

I made my Canare cables over a decade ago and they still look barely used. You can pass them on to your grandkids too.....THAT is environmentally conscious...stuff that lasts.
One thing that drives me up the wall though is why does gaff tape leave residue on nothing but my cables? Gaff some cables down for a couple weeks during a session, pull up the gaff and there’s gunk all over the cables! Grrrrrrr. I have to break out the Nitrile Gloves and WD-40 followed by 91% Isopropyl Alcohol to get that junk off.

There was this really expensive gaff tape, I could never remember the brand or afford that left less gunk.

Regarding the Amazon Tisino cables specifically
I do not like those cheap XLR barrels with the blue colored rings. They are an odd size for some standard connections, they are not identical to Neutrik.
Sometimes an extra tight fit can work to your advantage, other times a bad fit can be an issue.
There is a chance they will work for you.
I am not opposed to budget cables. I have a lot of Hosa snakes and patch cables.
I did get a couple of XS Pro snakes from Amazon that are working very well here.
For me it's a combo of DIY cables / budget cables / nicer off the shelf brand cables.
They all get the job done, except for the stuff that is so bad that it's unreliable. You have to draw the line at some level.
Try a few before you go whole hog, to see if they are adequate. Stick with the brands that prove to work with your experience.

Neutrik and Swiichcraft have become standards by default!

I have a guitar cable that I have probably been using for 10 years at this point.
Gotham cable, whatever nice jack tips I had at the time. DIY stuff from Redco.
That thing wraps up like butter. I wish I had 4 more.
