Wasn't an Echoboy fan either.
I love Timeless by FabFilter. And I use the stock PT delay often too.
The new TC 2290 delay plugin sounds EPIC though in demos. I really want that and think it would be one of the last effect plugins you'd ever buy.
Nothing beats a shitty SPX90II though with its horrid 14bit AD converters. Love it. And the PCM42...duh.

That’s for sure a great sound.

I often (right or wrong) suspect that what I like so much about Repeater is modeling of less than pristine ADDA conversion. I have no idea if they modeled that or not but it evokes that kind of sonic footprint to me on a lot of settings. Heard it the second I first tried it and never really went back.

D16 group kind of owns that space, a lot of their effects have a vibe like that

I remember the first and second times I pulled up Repeater, it was only giving me sound out of one side. I couldn't figure out why this was the case, and didn't have time to chase it down. I put Echoboy back up, and everything just worked. I think I eventually got it working, but it never felt intuitive, so I moved on. I need to pull it back up and spend some time with it. I did really like the tone of the repeats.

Funny how an increasing number of my Slate favorites are not made by Slate.

I love the UAD tape echo (EP-34) ... it sounds lovely for slap backs, etc
For more complex, airy stuff I use the Logic stereo delay but I generally do something post delay like chorus, saturation or reverb... sometimes all three!! :-)

I like The Valhalla delay. I think it’s free. Does all the subdivisions, locks to tempo, has a filter section. Really couldn’t ask for more! Valhalla Delay isn't free, it hasn't even been released yet! Been beta testing it the last few weeks. Could be the last delay plugin anyone will ever need. Highly recommended! You probably mean Valhalla Freq Echo, which is a simple free delay with a frequency shifter in the feedback path, which can make for some interesting shifting stereo effects, and allow you to crank the regeneration way higher than usual without runaway feedback oscillation. They are both great. valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalla-freq-echo/Wow. That sounds fantastic. I noticed it defaulted to mono and only went stereo (even though it said it was in stereo) when I moved the shit and came back to zero. Really super simple.

Lemon was really cool...great tape delay sounds...but I occasionally couldn't get it in sync...not sure what the issue was.

Eventide H910 and Soundtoys PrimalTap.
I also like Excalibur for something really hifi and powerful.
