I'm enjoying the song. I like the stereo separation - works well with the trio. It's a little thick with reverb, but that's a subjective genre/taste thing. If there are no other tracks going into this mix then it's fine - Though I suppose I might test backing down the reverb on the singer for more clarity and intimacy.

Thanks for listening and commenting! Nope, nothing else will be added, that's it! I had another friend tell me "more reverb on the vocal" so as you say, definitely a matter of taste/subjectivity there I think. I think for authentic rootsy Folk, less reverb probably would give it a more live, authentic and intimate feel, but I couldn't resist adding a few layers of "pop polish" haha.

Thank you so much guys, you don't know what it means to have such highly respected peers comment positively on this! Although I've been mastering professionally for a decade now, in that same time I've only mixed about four tracks. I was heavily involved in electronic music production between about 92-09 but gave it up for the mastering (what do you know, it actually paid!) Over the last few years I got really into folk music and playing the guitar, so rekindled my interest in recording and mixing. It was only when I found a couple of other musos and friends that I really gelled with, that we started to get some interesting ideas and results. I'm glad it's sounding good to your ears!
