Just have had a very frustrating experience with apogee taking zero ownership of to apparent bugs.
When I open Control to switch between mixer and playback, I typically drag control to my laptop monitor cus I hsve logic open on main monitor. When I open the drop down to switch between mixer and playback, it opens on my main monitor so I hsve to scroll over to select, a bit of a pain.
So, I emailed apogee asking if they had a keyboard shortcut, no they don’t and 5 emails later and after sending them a systems report and then sugggesting I change monitors, tbolt cables and HDMI plugs but then never fixing the problem I gave up.
More seriously sometimes on power up my symphony mkii opens st like 80% volume and I always turn it to zero before shutting off. Again, zero ownership from Apogee implying it’s a daw or a setting problem the guy is either vacuous or a master of spin to get away from solving the real problem .
After 6 non helpful emails I just told the guy I give up.

That's Apple's bug, not Apogee's. There's a lot of problems with Thunderbolt screens since HS.

I never upgrade OSs until forced.
Sorry for the headaches, Kcat.

I don’t think so I have had this problem or inconsistency for some time and not just the current OS,and I have no other problems with my monitors and I have been running the same tbolt cables and Apple HDMI cable for a number of years. I put a call into apogee to talk to whoever manages these guys.

How long is "some time"? And what system are you running?
If Mojave, the monitor bug is typical. The output level thing not.

I am running the current OS and I have had the problem for I'd say 3-6 months.
How can a system not know that its gui has been moved to a completley different monitor, than the one it opened on ? Why would the drop down open on one monitor while the gui is on another ?

I will say in my experience, their chat feature was great. I liked that I could reach out and pretty much instantly get in touch with someone. However, when they wanted to charge me almost 30 dollars for a couple of replacement screws ($20 minimum order plus $7 shipping), that left a pretty bad taste. They wouldn’t budge either, no matter how much I complained. In the end they gave me a “special one time pass” for the screws, but it wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Agreed, I use the Chat function a lot and have typically found that very helpful.

Yeah - I liked the chat function, but it's hard to explain stuff via chat sometimes.

Why would the drop down open on one monitor while the gui is on another ? Because Apple decide to isolate a lot of processes for security reasons. You run into these problems fairly often if you use remote access apps to administer Macs remotely. Like some dialogs not showing. i can fully understand why that's happening when remoting into a Mojave Mac, but there are some bugs when using multiple screens too. You could also say it's sloppy programming from Apogee, as they have been warned. But it seems impossible for Apogee to test every setup, especially with multiple monitors. Not all brands are affected by it. One USB attached external monitor even no longer works and never will be updated for Mojave. In this case, the manufacturer should have known. I think Apple could test more. Ever since they started churning out a new system every year, quality has gone down a lot. And that's software and hardware quality.

I am running a laptop and one monitor: hardly sophisticated and obviously a supported configuration in apple’s normal settings.
The only thing problematic is the apogee control drop down. I blame apogee.
