I think dandeurloo pointed this out, and I didn’t really notice at first, but the Proq2 does need to be run in llinear to be as effective as it should be. I really noticed with the low end. It’s really different when you add the top horsepower.

Just started dropping it into an existing mix and turning off existing eq. In each instance preferred ffq3, cleaner, precise, easy to set: all those normal ff attributes.
i’ll be buying for sure.
Anybody use the ff saturation plug ?

wow.. the new features/operation and graphic response ..and sound..fkkin ay! Does it sound different, or just new features? I'm not sure if this is a worthwhile upgrade for me even at $65, I've already got a few dynamic EQs.

jesus I just watched the demo. Wow. Bad ass. Their demos are some of the best in the business. FabFilter - Elysia - Thermionic Culture Other companies should take notes.

You guys like Pro L2 better than the original? I haven't upgraded yet, but since I'm going to grab ProQ3, I figure I should make the most of my money.

Should have gotten it when it was on sale last week for surround purposes. I think the new loudness metering is a very nice touch too. Haven't heard it though.

The “Modern” setting is the best I’ve heard for loudness and I use the “Safe” setting for transparently locking individual tracks in place all the time. Particularly bass and lead vox.

Had I quick play with the ProQ3. I'll be buying it. Dynamic EQ, while probably the same shit under the hood as ProMB, is just really fast and intuitive to use when it's integrating with the EQ. Also per-band m/s is amazing. Was messing with stereo drum OH and it was extremely powerful the way you could manipulate the image.
FabFilter is my favorite plugin company. More and more I just get the 'tone' and weight and size and stuff from hardware and then use FabFilter stuff for the ITB sculpting.

So if this thing has built in compression, are you still using separate compression with it? Before or after?

So if this thing has built in compression, are you still using separate compression with it? Before or after? It's not "compression" in the sense of a channel strip. It's compression or expanding PER-BAND of each individual EQ filter. You can do a ton of cool stuff with it, for example boosting highs on a snare and ducking when the hi hat bleed hits. I just did that the other day. On a vocal you're still going to need your MJUC or whatever you use.

I own that but haven't really sunk my teeth into learning it yet.

I like it for notching out annoying frequencies and maybe some very small boosts on a master.
