Just want to put in a shout-out for Brad n Bill here. Their Silver Bullet has given me excellent results on the 2-bus. If you’re thinking about one of these SSL units, you owe it to yourself to give Brad a call. Oh, and don’t forget the API and Neve-flavored preamps for tracking and bus flavor. Oh, and the the flexibility of switching from tracking to mixing with the twist of a knob. Oh, and the inserts and the EQ and ...

My bud heyman grabbed one and seems to be digging it so far. I checked it out at AES and the Parsons Expo and thought it was pretty rad.

I never mixed on an SSL console. So, I don't know what it sounded like to drive the mix bus. The "Vintage Drive" function of this box is described as reminiscent of an SSL console mix bus which helps you drive the mix and add a bit of natural compression, while setting up and adding to harmonic content. When it was used by Mitch G and the SSL guy it sounded to me like it was brightening the mids to high mids like an EQ bump. Is there anybody who has mixed on an SSL console who would like to comment on if this is what the famous "sweet spot" of driving an SSL console sounded like? My guess is that it is a vibyness across the frequency spectrum, which is not what I heard, but I could be wrong.

Odd that we spent so much time and money to get the distortion down to nil and now we're spending time and money to try and bring distortion back.
Back WTH, I think the 1%-3% THD sounded better too!

Really digging the Fusion and our customers are as well! Its a nice "enhancer" type of unit. It's not specifically anything dedicated, so it does not compare with "usual suspects" like [EQ/Compressor/Exciter boxes that are usually one-thing] but the sections add up to a nice blend of things that make a stereo mix jump out more. IMHO, It's a nice way to finish a mix.
