Also, I just realized that there is no mic/line switch. How is switching between the two handled?

Man, Josh got me again. I couldn't resist the $200 discount and I really do love my MPA1073. I ordered one.I'm not normally into so many pieces from one manufacturer but every Stam piece I love. I feel like a fanboy.

This looks great, I also wonder about the MIC/LINE switching I would want it on the front of the unit, as I would be using the EQ continuously on previously recorded tracks...during mixing. Price is great, and you know the build is going to be wonderful. My issue is two fold, one, cash.. I don't have it, and still have a LA3A PULTEC and SA47 coming from stam that I have to pay for 8). The other issue is just I own a BAE 73DMP (Preamp no EQ) and a AML EZ1073-500 (Preamp and EQ no TRIM) Both have all the good gear in them. I would love to put the 1073 by Josh up against them, as the BAE is lovely and soft sounding, and is on every vocal you guys have ever heard me do. The AML is a much faster sounding unit to me, both are great, and I am glad they don't sound the same. Cheers Wiz

and a AML EZ1073-500 (Preamp and EQ no TRIM) Try one of these Wiz : www.adesignsaudio.com/atty-stereo-attenuatorIt's what I use on the API's that don't have a trim that incessantly clip my converters even with the gain CCW all the way. (I HATE the API's when the pad is engaged - I never engage it, but that leads to clipping.) Having the ATTY around is handy, and it's fairly inexpensive. And stereo.

I believe it switches to line when you twist to the line settings on the right...

I only see the "Configuration: Carnhill output, no Line input" available for buttons
Could be a mistake on the website? I see no option for the trafo in/out version

Has anyone put the Stam 1073 next to a BAE or AMS Neve? I’d love to hear them side by side. This piece is dangerous. I’m contemplating very hard right now.

I actually end up using the Soundcraft Delta, as it has boockooo headroom.... thanks again though cheers Wiz

Using a Redcloud for that same purpose. Works great, let's me crank the pres without clipping converters if needed.

So how do you get some sort of confirmation that the $200 discount will be applied? The website doesn't calculate it automatically and apparently neither does the PayPal page. Lemme know if you found out!

I think that's some serious competition for the heritage and warm 1073 stuff.

I think that's some serious competition for the heritage and warm 1073 stuff. I am sure the unit will be very good but you have to factor in the wait time and shipping, if that matters to you. The discount on the early adopters is a good incentive and I think there are a number of people here who have multiple stam units and are happy with them .

I personally could use the time to save up - Sunday Funday = Deposit on Stam 73eq with sowter and line input... Whoops. haha

been waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger on a 1073 clone and decided to go with Stam. just ordered 2 with the sowter line in. I'm still early enough for the $200 discount, right Stam?

Josh how much current can the PSU deliver? I think I’m going to want to put one up against the Heritage!
