Hesitated clouding the discussion, but decided to add that I have a pair of the Russian ribbons that pop up now and then elsewhere. They're fantastic. That said, I don't own any other ribbons, so FWIW. Really great on guitar cabs for my usage though. It's been three or four years since I bought them, but they were about $270 at the time for a matched pair. Only record I have is the following contact info. Worth looking into if he's still making them: Игорь Бурдуков <burd-ig@yandex.ru> I've got two of them Use em all the time I still want royers and stagers

Looking at the pics posted in that second link, I would have thought putting one mic directly behind the other would have caused some issues (phasing, blocking the rear lobe of the Fig 8 mid mic, etc.) versus putting one mic on top of the other with their ribbons/diaphrams lined up. According to the conversation in that thread, that appears to not be the case though. Interesting. I do like how it doesn't require the two mic setup to be so tall. Good luck finding something that could hold both of those mics if one of them is a 4038 though. You'd have to use two separate stands/clips I guess. Latch Lake Stands.
