I'm not on FB, don't care about FB. Have NOT ordered the product yet, and am NOT complaining about delivery time, or lack of communication, and am not hoping for some possible upgrade in the future. I just need some answers on his existing EQP before pulling the trigger. Was CONSIDERING ordering an EQ or two but wanted to know the answers to the following before ordering : 1. Current Price point. (Website is quite confusing as to what the price is TODAY), and 2. When the projected delivery time will be. We all know that his initial timetables are shall we say.....variable. 3. Will they "stereo match" units if I order a pair. Without timely communication when I'm ready to hand over money, there's not much chance of a sale is there? It's been several days now. Close to a week. I sent email through their website. Hello! Did you get a response from me? If not please re-send your email My health has been sort of a nightmare for the past 5 weeks and it is denifetly affecting my workflow but I will answer here as I have a chance: Price right now is 899 for pre orders. It is very likely the price will change to 1.090 in stock an 999.00 for pre-orders Delivery date is projected for end May, I hope no delays this time Stereo matched units is not necessary, there is an output gain knob to match the gain when using them Thanks Joshua

I hope you're back up to 100% soon!! I got an email back from Miguel yesterday. He said the $799 price was still in effect, and that May/June was projected. So thanks to Miguel and you for the confirmation. I'd still like to know the exact price though as you two seem to have different ideas. At $799 I'm inclined to take a chance on a pair. Thanks, Bill

As I'm preparing to place a couple of first-time orders with Joshua, it gives me more confidence when I see him pop in here and make that offer to you, drbill. That was a cool move.

Welcome to our party and come back and share your thoughts! thanks so much for the welcome, Eric! I've been active over at the purple site for nine years now, and somehow--unbelievably--I had no idea this place even existed. It's become such a Charlie Foxtrot over there that I'm relieved to find another community.

GS seams to have some kind automatic RGO, Real Gear censor program, though we have snuck some stuff in 😁! Here you will find it is much more like a group of guys who are talking gear over beer or whatever your preference, the conversation will beer off because that’s life! We give each other a hard time just like a bunch of guys in a bar and agree to disagree! We also get this actually do our best to actually be in the same room !

Wanted to bring up something that I happened to stumble across after reading the thread at GS. It has to do with the NOS upgrade option costing $400 per unit, $800 for the pair in my case. The short story: Stam Audio sent out emails earlier this year offering a NOS upgrade for $400 per unit, consisting of an upgraded input transformer, upgraded inter-stage transformer, upgraded output transformer and upgraded NOS tubes. After much debating, I went for it and sent the man $800. Today, I read through the SA-EQP1A thread at GS ( link) and came across a couple of posts from Miguel and Joshua eluding that the NOS upgraded consists of the output transformer upgrade and NOS tubes, not mentioning the input and inter-stage transformer. I posted this question to Josh, and he confirmed that indeed, the input and inter-stage upgrades are no longer part of the deal. Can't help but to feel burned on this one, paying for something that I'm no longer getting. Josh hasn't replied offering an explanation or apology. Am I over-reacting here? I mean, I don't want to seem ungrateful or anything. But it stings. And finding out about this by piecing together different posts on a forum instead of a direct email adds salt to the wound. Thoughts?

Thoughts? You’re not overreacting. If you enter into a purchase agreement, the seller can’t change the terms on the way to fulfilling your order. In any context.

And If I read this correctly, you found this info reading online? You weren’t notified about this?

Thoughts? No. You’re not over-reacting IMO. The most important component to get a truly vintage sounding unit are the transfotmers. IMO. This has been covered a lot on the various EQP clone threads over the years. And yeah, you should get what you paid for or get refunded. BS that you had to piece it together yourself by reading threads.

So any response from Stam regarding this? I’m not waiting on one of these, I think this needs to be addressed.

So any response from Stam regarding this? I’m not waiting on one of these, I think this needs to be addressed. Yes, he more or less said it was his mistake. He said he confused the $200 upgrade option with the $400 upgrade option, which is bizarre because there was never any $200 upgrade option offered. I think he just made a mistake. HOWEVER, I’m reading feedback from Josh about his thoughts on the upgrade in general. I’m getting the feeling that he almost doesn’t think it’s worth the money. Something about a slightly extended bottom end and more headroom. I might bail on the upgrade. Especially after he basically just forgot about half of it. Which makes me think he hasn’t even built a unit with the full upgraded transformers.

I did not forget about half the upgrade and I have made several, I am actually bringing a couple to Eric Johnson's studio soon, his engineer Kelly auditioned it and felt in love with them. I will make sound clips when I get the time and you can decide weather you want the upgrade or not. I have no problem refunding if you don't want it. Have a good weekend.

I know you’re good about refunds. You’ve always been solid with me. And that was completely my assumption about the NOS builds. Glad to hear you’ve got some built. All this talk about the different upgrades threw me off. I’ll hang tight till I hear these comparisons!

Looking forward to getting this piece. I was at my local Guitar Center and the manager begged me to take a used Warm WA-EQP off his hands. He offered it to me for $395 and it was too tough to pass up. Now I will have 2 Warm's and a Stam. At least I can do a comparison. The original idea was to compare and then sell the Warm. Now I got stereo. Oh well.

I picked up the KT1176 recently and that seems to be a little less mojo than the Grahemtec 1176 Blue stripe I have but I'm still learning it.
