Had half day yesterday, and haven't gotten into the weeds yet. After my business is done, I'll go back to the new Hall A where the audio stuff is and dig in a bit.

Eric, here's some astonishing goodness, the Coil Audio stuff. Besides sounding gorgeous across the board, the Coil Audio mic/line modules have filters and modest tone controls, and the big feature, negative feedback control. Most circuits have fixed negative feedback for low harmonic distortion, these have adjustable negative feedback, so you can have low distortion, or back off the feedback for more harmonic distortion if you think it compliments what's going into the channel. A "more cowbell" control, if I may say. Here's a blissed out me and Steve Squire from Coil after I got a good listen to the Coil rack of pre/line modules. The demo was a multitrack recording that the listener was invited to mix to taste. Sounded fantastic.

Hi everyone. My first posting, at this fine site. It was my "best NAMM ever"! (have gone 10 of the last 12 years) Partly for reconnecting with people I hadn't seen for some time. Also for meeting new folks, like Tim Campbell. And to top it all off (it was already the best NAMM already)... Winning a Soundelux U195, at the Bock booth, from their Saturday drawing at 4:30!!

Really nice meeting you chessparov. How lucky can you get, a free Soundelux U195? It was a great show all around.

Thanks so much Tim. BTW I spent over an hour tonight singing on the "new baby", and can already tell it's a tremendous microphone for...
Both melodic uptempo & ballad style material-Which virtually covers anything I'll studio record. Gotta have some excuses though, to keep my other vocal microphones! Chris

Great meeting you, Tim. Lots more pro audio than years past. Met Adam Fiori and Wade Goeke from Chandler. Saw Mike Ketchell from Miktek. At Tech21, here's Eric Bloom, me, Doug Pinnick (King's X) and Leland Sklar (James Taylor, more.) Nice! I am a huge King's X fan. What a unique band.

Apologize for all the pictures of me. Selfies with people are what's done these days. Me and Bryce from Warm.. The new 1073 stuff was displayed and demo'd with tracks and headphones. Sounded fine and the EQ sounded sweet. Mics were too, harder to get a read on them due to the NAMM din.

At Tech21, here's Eric Bloom, me, Doug Pinnick (King's X) and Leland Sklar (James Taylor, more.) Back around 1990 or so, I was in a band that opened for King's X in my (to this day) hometown of Phoenix. Great music from those guys. Great music from everyone in this picture!

had a good time. highlights for me were tweaking the Coil Audio rack, getting the Burl Mothership record and hearing the Highland Dynamics proto type preamp. this thing is pretty sweet. he said no idea on price or availability yet but wanted to show it anyway. there was a stepped gain switch that was low, medium, high, and open. the open position instantly brought a really nice distortion to the lead vocal that was patched to it. also had low and high filters that were killer. UA had a booth set up where you could A/B hardware to plug ins. thought that was neat but didn't partake.
