Wow - just got the Nimbus + R4 bundle...and these are really amazing. Honestly, to have THIS many presets is a Godsend. There are so many parameters, it can do things I would never think about, so just scrolling through and then tweaking has really been fantastic. I really can say this is becoming my number 1 reverb right now.

These two have become my go-to for room sounds...and I’ve got a loooot of verbs. Just for whatever reason feels the most convincing. I’ve been paying around with them on vocals - plates and chambers...I know my standbys so well, that it’s hard to break into the lineup...but it has a couple times...and as I get more comfortable with them I bet I’m just gonna start pulling up just R4 and Nimbus.

I'd been looking for something better to fill out a series of orchestral concert recordings that are being made in a funky sounding high school auditorium. I'd gone back and forth between various convolution reverbs and Paul Frindle's brilliant Oxford reverb but never really been able to get past them feeling phony. PhoenixVerb solved this problem so well that I offered Michael an endorsement which I've not done very often. Then the two of us got to hang out one afternoon at the Los Angeles AES convention. I learned we share a deep love of classical music and recording.

Thank you so much Bob (and John before that). I really did enjoy getting to know you a bit and I hope we can repeat before too long. Maybe I'll see you in NYC this fall!

When I put together the original stereo bundle, I did it in a way that makes it difficult to upgrade directly (my bad), Some of those upgrades have to be directly administered, meaning that I or my admin have to help you with it. Just look for the Upgrade link on the website by the end of the month and you should see it.

Excellent news. Looking forward to purchasing the Nimbus and R4 bundle once they're available without having to be shackled to a dongle.

So license can be on computer no Ilok required ? Yes, but just for those 4 plugins. You'll need iLok License Manager (www.iLok.com) but you have the option of iLok or CPU.

Just a quick note that this didn't work for me with R2. Deactivated license from ilok to manager, then activated on CPU. Opened project with R2, the CPU activation showed but I couldn't select it and couldn't launch R2. Deactivated license back to manager and tried activating by loading plugin in project and using R2 activation method, but could only select ilok as a location to activate.

Did you install the 4.0.0 update of R2? If that didn't work, get to me over the support link.

If one were to buy just a single Exponential reverb, which one should it be?
I feel like according to the chart it is an R4 vs Nimbus race for me.

I have only used R4 so far(on the album I mentioned earlier in the thread)
It seems like a little undertaking to learn but it does sound nice and unique.

R4 is more Lexicon like. Nimbus is more like a real chamber or hall.

R4 is more Lexicon like. Nimbus is more like a real chamber or hall. I tend to use those Live Room presets in R4 for acoustic sometimes...but yes, seems like Nimbus is more of the room type verb.
