Are the Egnater amps cathode or fix biased? All of the models, with the exception of the Tweaker, are fixed/adjustable bias with easy to use test points. Consult the owner’s manuals or contact support@egnateramps.com for information on how to properly adjust the bias. The Tweaker is cathode biased so there is no adjustment required when replacing tubes.

At first when I reinstalled the old tubes it was working fine then it would power up and the tubes were lit but it stopped passing sound. So now I have taken it to a local shop to get checked out my. Hopefully it’s nothing serious but so far trying these new tubes hasn’t worked out well at all:( My guess, tube sockets might need a tighten cheers Wiz

The amp is an enclosed chassis so open it up and ensure sockets are seated ?

A bit of info I ran across recently is that not all the Eastern European/Chinese tubes have pins that strictly adhere to US spec. Noise can be caused by insufficient contact in the sockets. OTOH, some of those import tubes have OVERSIZE pins that might stretch your contacts and even damage the socket itself.
