remote desktop from the tablet or a solid state netbook/Air type latpop will be the ultimate remote control. There have been tons of apps for VNC on both Android, iOS, OSX and Windows for years. This isn't new technology! Have you never used OS X's "Share screen" from within Finder when you connect to another computer on your network? It's how I did my REW sweeps for my studio area from the other room in the apartment so I don't have to listen to a sinewave at 85db coming out of my speakers lol

Took me a while to figure out how you could possibly think anyone things RDC protocol is a new tech....it was my use of "will"(?)...as in this "will" be the most complete way to remote control your DAW--as in you can try a tablet, try some emulated MCU by way of a generic app, but RDC from a lightweight silent(solid state) clamshell laptop "will be" the most complete solution with the least set up time.

Are you talking about the cesspool that`s their `lounge` Haha. Their lounge is a cesspool indeed, however, this was actually all over the reaper.fm home page, right at the top. A big text that read something about getting out to vote to prevent the end of the world, and about 6 articles linked underneath which all were blatantly and unapologetically biased to just one of the candidates which I will not name. Then they also had a link to their lounge to discuss it, yes. Poor form for a company, in my opinion. I own a business on the web with customers world wide, and would never dream of doing such a thing. Man I agree, I had clients from everyplace on the political spectrum, very few knew my real political beliefs. I had no problem helping the opposition in the world of Audio & Video. Although one New Years Eve I did walk into a restaurant without a reservation and was given the Governors reserved table and he came over to say hi! However get me drunk enough & Ill tell you a story about how I " helped" a hate group 😁!

However get me drunk enough & Ill tell you a story about how I " helped" a hate group 😁! It's not really something to be proud of though, is it? Or were you being facetious, and actually threw a spanner in their works? In that case, I applaud you.

I don't know what the Reaper dev's actual political opinion is/was....but, I'm all for transparency that way. I think forums with what I'll call a "gentleman's agreement to not discuss politics" is the unnatural and potentiall unhealthy construct. It allows people to believe the craziest untruths--outside of actual political bent...because they're not discussed because they're "political".
I want a t-shirt that says "everything's political".

I don't mix politics with business either, but my God... I'm a New Yorker and I have always known what an absolute crook and morally bankrupt person Trump is. I just never thought he would run, none of us here did. But what it revealed "unfortunately" was just how many people will NEVER speak up regarding basic decency and values, and how many people are so compromised at their core that they will look the other way while their hero, rock star, or President, lies, cheats, and treats other people inappropriately. Trump being in office hasn't revealed anything new to me about him, but sadly it's made me realize I greatly over estimate the integrity, intelligence, and nobility of many of my fellow Americans.
While Reaper's website may not have been the wisest place for the company to espouse their political viewpoints, it in no way is a free pass to justify the anti social and inappropriate aspects of Trump's behavior. That rule goes for all of us, some folks just seem to think certain "other folks" get a pass. No such thing.

Like watching the movie Idiocracy in real life.

I have no reason to get into world beliefs with clients. I can happily do the audio work without. Cool Gov story!

Truth be known only morally bankrupt or compromised politicians ever 'succeed' long term in politics. I'm an equal opportunity 'voter'. I hate all politicians equally and especially their string pullers who operate out of view in the dark.
