With a freight-forwarding company I reckon you can get it down to around $50 total shipping

Anyone heard this EQ? It’s tempting due the repution of the 80b, but I’m not a huge fan of PMI audio, based on the the shoddy Toft stuff.
Thiugh I imagine this would be a fairly reliable piece given the simplicity and surface mount assembly...

I've only heard good things. And I could be wrong, but I thought most of the design flaws with the Toft ATB were worked out, no? I know they're several revisions in. At $225 its hard to beat.

Sounds pretty decent. I may pick up a pair. Whaddayagottalose??? If you wait till the memory of the sale dies down, you can probably sell at a profit.

I agree -- for the money, it's probably a no brainer. As for the Toft, maybe it's improved recently? I was considering getting one about 2 yrs ago, but after conversations with a couple owners, I decided against it... there were a lot of reliability issues, and really poor customer service.

Universal Audio is doing 4 plugs (no restrictions) for $399. Just got $1050 worth of plugins for 399. Includes the new distressor plugin. I snagged the Distressor, Zener Limiter and a couple others on this deal. Been waiting for a deal like this to snag a few of the pricier ones that I dig.

Just from what I can see These look prime to mod. Great looking, great knobs just mass produced with some component swaps and bypassing/removing of things that could be in the way. Those opamps, willing to bet they're 4558's. Anyone wanting that PM me. On new mod's I only ask for a unit or pair along with the unit or pair you buy. Everyone else after that has to pay And, these could be potential beast's, they look absolutely great!

Thiugh I imagine this would be a fairly reliable piece given the simplicity and surface mount assembly... Ditto. And how does it compare to the original eq in the old 80b console? Does it have the same tone or is it just an 80b in name and frequency points? I've always heard good things about 80b eq, especially on guitars, but I've never used it before. I was considering getting a second pair of Kush Electras. How does this eq compare to the Electra for better or worse?

Never heard the 80b eq directly but I've heard the Toft ATB eq (which is supposed to be almost the same), and I owned a pair of electras. From what I gather they're different beasts. The Electras are smooth, transparent and had a way of changing tone without it sounding "eq'd". The 80b's are more vibey from what I've heard. Kind of how a neve eq sounds vibey and "eq'd", but in a good way.

If these things have the same tone as the original 80b eq, then $225 is an awesome price. If not, well....

Can you put the updates in your original post? Just makes it easier when new people walk into the thread to see.
