Nice, and these kits include EVERYTHING correct?I dont wanna have to source parts from mouser or whomever myself like some of these of the don classic kits.... I've always steered clear despite the superb reviews because I find the website is archaic/not easy to navigate & the lack of exchange rate/currency selection for USD. Me no like math. But if that's the price heck I'll pick up two and pop in the capi rack.

Go through checkout. U.S.A. doesn't pay VAT. total price shipped to U.S. is $537.74 for a pair. Compaired to Don's it doesn't have output control but almost half the price and no parts sourcing. Can't comment on sound. Only problem is there are 3 different neve pres available.

I have a fondness for gear that requires a screwdriver be handy. Had some Volumax units which had a protruding curved VU meter, you could leave a little tweaker sitting on it, ready to go.

Good eye. I don't see the 3rd stage 2N3055 either. I wonder how this was overcome?

Good eye. I don't see the 3rd stage 2N3055 either. I wonder how this was overcome? It looks as though it may be the TIP3055 in the heatsink at the bottom right in the photo. With some accompanying circuit mods it may be a suitable replacement. With Colin's depth of experience and intimate knowledge of this circuit I'm confident he has tested this mod and is satisfied with the outcome before releasing it for sale.

FYI Colin worked at AMS Neve for quite a while before branching off into his own thing, so the expertise is there in his designs.

Not yet was about to order but they don't accept paypal..... I've had issues with paying by credit card too.... Bank of America apparently blocks international transactions unless you let them know in advance. But I usually pay AML using Transferwise ... it's the cheapest way I've found to send money overseas, and avoids the inflated exchange rates that banks and paypal charge.

so no DI input on this - i'm reading from some sources you don't even need a pad with a 1073, you just turn it down? It's the one thing holding me back from going for it - i want to try these as line level as a stereo pair on the bus.

Would love a DI as well, also these don't have a line mode so not sure they're buss-able

I guess we will see, I looked up a post by Geoff Tanner, who knows a few things about Neve, and he said that with the step gain and trim, you shouldn't need to pad, as that's how it was built.
My pair will be here Monday or Tuesday as long as customs doesn't ruin my fun.

line mode is as easy as an inline pad, which is what a lot of older consoles did anyway. don't see the problem.
