One of the artists I've been working with over the last few years decided he wanted to cut a new record, but this time he wanted to track in the studio's pub. "BarFunGul" He loves the ambiance. Go figure.. Ha
So off we went down to the dungeon, and set up for a few days of tracking / overdubbing...
Because it's nothing more then a few acoustic guitars, (an occasional electric grr and or bass) vocals, and a few assorted percussion overdubs (which could be anything) I used one of the simplest rigs I have.
I decided NOT to use my Helios remote rig for this one.
So instead I opted for a Mac Laptop, Zoom F8, & Fader pack, iLoud monitors, & a Rolls headphone amp. Simple, easy, and it sounds great~!
Mic's too were straight pretty ahead. Shure SM-7 on vox. (this works great on his voice, and in this kind of live tracking situation, as we've used this before on his records. Two Neumann KM-84's on acoustic guitar, The Zoom (whatever the model number is ) X/Y stereo mic, faced down at his feet for foot stomps and floor tambourines. And a Royer SF-12 as a room mic.
Simle, and easy...
We just now finished, and of course it's Miller TIME ! Only fooling, you know me better then that! It's actually St. Bernardus ABT-12 time... More to come.
