There is something about Neve EQ's. You can really "carve" out a weird sound with it. It lets you go far too far overboard. Kinda gives you the impression that its ok to goose the knobs and carve out the entire turkey to the bone. Weird, but very rock and roll. I like cranking up the red knob and tweazering the Output trim. Had a pair of BAE 1073 come through here recently. Those have a wetness to them. The old neves are drier, & tighter sounding, The Great River eq is like the Neve IMO only better. You can do all sorts of work with those things. After having the GR eq's it is hard to want any thing else. Agreed. I always thought the Great River products sounded far better than old neves. Way more versatile and clear sounding.

I've heard the RTZ is the best. I had the Great River here when a friend lent it to me for a few days. It was excellent, had a very full and tight low end. But I actually prefer my Stam SA73 to the Great River. I haven't tried the RTZ yet. I did some tests at Fab Dupont's Flex Studios a while back an got to use his restored Neve console. The Stam reminds me of that sound the most.
