This thing looks and sounds great, and is not too expensive. Germanium distortion built into your mic. It's never gonna match a nice vintage Neumann for vocals, but then that's not really its forte... microrocco.jimdo.com/fuzzyphone/Can imagine this, a Copperphone, and a NoHypeAudio LRM2 (ribbon) would make a nice lo-fi/'coloured' addition to a mic locker for under $1k.

It's pretty good, but I think I'd probably want to take care of the distortion separately. A Shure Bullet would probably get you very close too?

That sounds awesome! In a "bad" way of course. Very cool. I like it better than the copperphone. It's "bigger" and more open sounding with a tad less distortion. Copperphone gets small and very telephony. IME, you can't get that sound legit "post production" without recording it that way. If you want the option of clean, put up two mics and switch between as needed.
Note : the one they have up FS looks nothing like the one in the picture..... That leaves pause for thought.

Against better judgment...and because I've been looking for something that could give me this sound- I just bit the bullet.
Good point, Dr. Bill- I like the look of the final product better, but I certainly hope that the sound hasn't been compromised too much.
Will report back with findings once the piece materializes.

Dude explains on the page it's the "New Version Design". Looks a lot better than the one in the vid. I'm thinking of picking one up too. Let us know how it goes!

I should plug my Shure bullet into some of my distortion devices (Germanium, tubes) and see what happens!

Wow, just got an incredibly quick email reply, wasn't expecting that consider a 9 hr time difference to France. International shipping is 12 euro. I'm checking my paypal balance now, it'll be hard to talk myself out of buying this.

Will do, got an email that it shipped yesterday. Don't know how long it'll take to get from France to Oregon but I'll definitely be posting samples.

I'm checking my paypal balance now, it'll be hard to talk myself out of buying this. I just realized that I have a $200 refund in my PayPal account. Hmmm...

The shipping rate was 12 euros - i am based in the uk / the company is based in France.
It is very light which is also a major plus.. Maybe a factor in the design change from the MK1 ?
