We have a piece of musical children's theater that's been scheduled for 6 months or so, the entire band had been in the discussion the entire time with fixed dates. Seemingly enthusiastic. Paying gig. Asked recently to sign letters of commitment to the date, everyone bailed, asked if it could be moved. Really? Not surprising, honestly. These were symphony players, who also work in education. Moving forward with prerecorded backing.

What makes it worse is that they work in education, wow, very sorry to hear. I know the kiddos will do awesome!
