I just started a new project. Set it up from a template I've used before. I did some recording. When I went to listen back, the reverb sends weren't working. I looked around, I'd turned of Low Latency, so I re-instantiated the reverbs, and still, nothing. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Attachments:

Not if you can take the solo of and click the focus onto another track, ruling out Logic's thing where it auto record angles and uses a second fader automatically for whatever channel is focused/highlighted.
Fwiw, I've taken to rendering my intro click to audio, setting its input to "no input", and sticking it at the top of my arrange window to leave selected when I'm working but not actively tracking....it is how you avoid the "known" problem with the one core overloading.

Thanks popmann. I guess I could try making an audio file of the midi drum I used as a guide, but it never affected the reverb sends before, which is so odd.

That was a side note of good practice--the having a "no input" track at the top. ....you do need to click off the vocal (or anything else being sent to that reverb) for troubleshooting. If it's still broken, it's something else. The you move onto creating a NEW Aux channel with a reverb. If that works, you can go look into what's different in the environment, or simply recreate all four save THaT as a template and move on. Like people who aren't plagued by needing to know WHY....

After opening a new session and copying files to the new session, the send still didn't work.
I had tried deleting the sends and then setting them up again before trying to copy, but the sends still didn't work. I deleted them all again, started a new send to bus 5, (I used busses 1,2,3,4 previously). Using send "5" worked, so I set up a send 6 and 7. Curious, I then I tried a new send and used 1, and it worked this time. That was really strange, but I'll let it go if the next time I open the same template the sends work OK. If not, I'll have to figure it out.
Thanks again popmann.
* I switched sends 5,6,7,8 back to 1,2,3,4, and they work fine now.
So I thought I should try the template again, just to see if I could locate the trouble, and it's the template. Sends just aren't working. Now I'll have to create a new template because I have no clue why that one's sends weren't working.

No prob....I bet some stuff got "unwired" in the Environment. But, that's way too far under the hood for you to go messin', MJB. Pop's orders. You can fuck the whole project super quickly up in there....all kinds of shit starts behaving like you don't expect.

Save Session, Quit Logic, Restart Mac see if problem is gone. Logic X sometimes forgets a line of code.

Thanks mrholmes, good the finally see you! I did that, didn't work. I got it working by creating different sends. Strangely, once I created new sends 5,6,7,8, the other sends started working.
I think it could be my template was made with a previous version of Logic, and that's could be why strange things were happening. I'll create a new template when I'm in a good mood, it's tedious.

Open the template, do what you have done above, once the sends are working save as a new template. That should do it, I think.

I'll give that a try, my brain wasn't thinking clearly earlier, that'll save me some time. Thanks Stormy.

Go into your I/O setup or playback setup and then go into the bus/ aux/ send routing tab and delete all paths then restore to default ... Logic Pro x may use different wording than I just did though.

That can bring some trouble. Using the same tempalte did not work well when I did the switch from 9 to 10. Anyway its good to make a new tempalte form tiem to time, with submixes etc. All I can say if you have a running system do not change it because they bring new plug ins which just operate under a newer OSX. I did it and I had for half a year a nightmare switichng to El Capitan. I had to repair useres etc. It was no fun. One last thing is true, if El Capitan runs it is stable as hell. I like it now.

I'm on Sierra 10.12.4, and have no issues at all, even with five year old Waves plugs. I've been lucky I guess. I won't update my Apollo for a few months though, I like to give them some time to sort out any bugs.
