Android phone pics frequently load upside down, can't say it's the reason.

Thx, I'm pumped.
Basically I have been getting more and more unhappy with plug ins.
when I would insert my OB comps into my mix using logic's utility plug in, I found mixing became a lot more visceral and alive.
I use 8 sub groups in my daw and started thinking it would be nice to have some 4 band OB eq: 500 series got really expensive, real quick, so I started thinking about a delta.
Our old pal Tony C. sent me a link to this one up on craigslist in LA, selling for less than the price of the mods by Jim who had already done( 2 modules, the master section and upgraded psu, so I grabbed it.
Although its a 16/4/2, each group has 2 inserts so technically its a 24/4/2.
I traded Tony 2 d4's for 8 modded modules but still need to get them from him. I will probably complete the rest of the mods following the one's Jim or Tony already did. Wiz knows a way to put in a rotary HPF on each channel so I may do that too.
I have 7 channels of OB comp now and want to introduce a least one other channel and I will probably get a kush electra stereo eq.
Basically, I will use it for mixing but will use the pres and eqs for tracking drums for sure too !

Sometimes I have nightmares about big "mixers" but I have to say, that looks really nice. Also thought the thread was going to be about the Peavey Delta Blues, haha!

Well I was talking to Wiz about his and he asked me how many tracks do you normally use , so I counted and it was 10 to 15, so this 16 channel Delta board will be perfect for me. Today I pulled out the eight modules and disassembled them so I could ship Tony the PC be boards so fun to get my hands dirty with my new project. I had to unplug and unhook and disassemble everything and unsolder the fader and the XLR,but this is how you get to know your gear. Once Tony sends back the 8 modded PCBs I'll have to reverse all of this, but this gives me a chance to clean all the knobs and get some poly propylene and clean the front panel and just get things so shipshape. This whole thing was a bit of a wing and a prayer, as I was getting frustrated with Plugin's and all that shit, but there's something about leaning over a real board; it just feels fucking awesome and right. Very grateful that Tony remembered I was interested cus this 16/4/2 seems perfect for me and thx to Wiz too keeping me on the delta straight and narrow in the background ! Funny, we all met here (thsnkscjohnken), Tony's in LA, I'm in Canada and Wiz::Australia: small world !

My 32 channel in line DC2020 is a (large-ish) medium sized mixer, or perhaps a small LFAC. A 16 channel Delta is a large-ish small mixer. Not that I'm knocking it at all, just trying to keep the "lines" straight. I'd also look for a couple of spare channels because in my experience Deltas have been known to pop channels occasionally. Probably just blown ICs, but it's inconvenient if it happens in the middle of a session.

Compared to compact mixers like the Mackies that I use etc. Desk space is sort of a sacred conundrum for me so extra sizeability poses a big marriage question on the up front. I guess I'm working in a small space though.

Not gonna play, the my mixer is bigger than yours game:) My gal smiles and says my mixer is the perfect size: works for me ! I have a line on some delta stereo modules that apparently are sort of nos, pulled new some time ago and stored carefully. I bought some better alps faders that fit but don't secure properly, screws seat but don't lock fader securely in place? Maybe need longer screws, for some reason, my gal, also smiles, when I say that: nice that she is so supportive of my gear dilemmas ?

I guess it's good that I never grabbed one.

I can attest to the delta beauty. I have a 20x8x2 Delta 8. Every single input and group module is JW modded. Master is silly modded with foil resistors and audiophile caps on the sum amp. Jensen input transformers on 16 of the channels and Lundahl on the last 4. 16amp linear GRS Psu as well. Unfortunately I'm thinking of either parting it out or selling complete due to funds.
What do you guys think, part it out or sell complete?
