Hi, all.
I have the opportunity to pick up a couple of Beyerdynamic MC834 mics. I'm wonder who's used them and what impressions you might have with them. They'd be a cleaner mic than what I have in my locker at the moment.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Cheers, Tommy

Cheers, Tommy Not a true LDC, very clean sounding vocal mic, but the one thing about this mic is that it almost sounds like it has a built in gate, that cuts the noise and the tail of acoustic instruments that can be annoying. Still while I would never suggest it as the centerpiece of ones mic locker unless it's the perfect fit for someone's voice, it's a unique mic that I personally would buy knowing what it brings to the party.

To be honest, "a built in gate" doesn't sound like something I'd want. I'd likely want to use these for acoustic instruments. Thank you for the perspective!

Yeah it's a very unique tool in my eyes a lot of people don't notice it, we had one in rentals and a classical guitarist is the one who first brought it to my attention, it was all detail, detail, detail, then silence, to early, with a Neve or API you almost can't hear it, but something like a Millennia and it just pops out at you!
