Some of my earliest childhood memories are of the Glenn Campbell Show and pretending to be Glenn with my little Banjo. Later realizing all. The great stuff he did as part of the Wrecking Crew.

Wichita Lineman along with All along the watchtower and White Room - three of the best from my teenage years; in fact , all my years. R.I.P. Glenn

And to think I lived in Galveston! I almost called Maureen and offered to work the Show at the 1812 Opera House for free on his last tour just to say I did Glenn Campbell's last Performance of Galveston in Galveston but the calendar just didn't work!

Coming of age in the 70's, Glen was considered mainstream to me and my rock and roll friends and we did not listen to him much. Only later did I appreciate how great he was.

R.I.P.
We've known this was coming, but it doesn't diminish the loss.

As I worship at the altar of Brian Wilson I was particularly fascinated with Glen's work with The Beach Boys..
One story he told which I love is when recording "Dance, dance, dance" Glen was playing the opening riff incorrectly. Brian instantly heard the problem and said "who is playing it wrong?". They quickly determined it was Glen....but Brian liked Glen's version better and directed the rest of the band to play it Glen's way....
I love when "mistakes" become features...
