I'm about to purchase a trackball to replace our mouse.
I was consdering a Kensington Expert Wireless (Bluetooth) as I don't want a cable or to take up another USB port on the iMac.
Any suggestions/preferences from those using a trackball?

If you are on mac and your daw supports the track pad, get a track pad its so easy to work with and your hand will love it too.

Mac trackpad integration: check for any bugs relative to your specific software usage. I've found it disappointing as it doesn't integrate with DP well at all, so I rarely touch it.

Cheers all. We're running Reaper so I'll peruse their forum and check for any issues.

Logitech M570 Wireless here since 2011, and similar Logitech wired one for the decade before that.

The older wired ones, which are unfortunately no longer made, are amazing quality. Mine from 2000 is still going strong. I also switched to the 570 in 2011 just for the flashiness of having it wireless. However, I am now on my second one, as the switches on the first one died after a few years, and if you hunt about you'll see it's a common complaint. I bought another a couple of years ago which is still working, but I also hunted down better quality contact switches and installed those. Don't have all the info or part numbers to hand, but it's all out there if you do a search. Ergonomically, I think I actually prefer the larger size of the older ones, keep meaning to switch back to it, but never get around to fishing it out of the back of the mic locker.

Today I picked up a Kensington Expert Wireless Trackball. Installed and working well. It won't take long to get used to it.

Used the wired version for over a decade(3 of them) they still work but recently switched to the new "blue ball" wireless version. I've been using those seemingly forever now. I like the fact that they can share the same USB receiver as the Logitech wireless keyboard and they are (relatively) reliable. All the great feedback about the Kensington might make me go that direction the next time I need a new mouse (having two 570s in the same room can be confusing at times).

The Expert also has a scroll ring. Very useful already.

These things are giving me major carpal tunnel syndrome
Might be why I like using Pyramix so much. since I just punch in the numbers instead of Pro Tool'n with the alien mask crab formation some might call my right hand.

LOGITECH MARBLE MOUSE TRACKBALL - smaller ball - not as heavy or hard to shove around as the others mentioned. Treat yourself!
