I just released a new tune, I posted about it in the Zulu thread...
As I was looking at my tracking/mix notes to write the post about what zulu was used on in the track... I looked at all the gear I used.
Most of it comes from little guys in the audio gear industry... a lot members here on RGO
Zulu, as I mentioned
JLM preamps and compressor (BA2,99nv,NV500,TG500,LA500)
CAPI preamp and compressor (VP28,FC526)
DRIP compressors (LA2A,STA)
STAM compressors (SA2A,SA4000)
BAE preamp (1073DMP)
WARM AUDIO compressor and EQ (WA76, EQP-WA)
I have some other big guy compressors..... DBX163X, DBX161, Aphex 320A.... and those have been modded by "little guys".. Revive Audio, Pro Harmonic.
Our industry really embraces these guys....
cheers

It's a great time in history to be a gear head

Hey man cool post... If it weren't for companies like the ones you mentioned most of us would have no HW, and never really get to experiment with analog without breaking the bank. I am very appreciative that a DAW can do so much. I am also appreciative of companies you mention providing quality gear at affordable prices.. ( I know everyone has a sliding scale of what they deem affordable 😀 )

I have the Zulu and like it a lot (need to get it patched in though to use more) I just got a BAE 1073MP Dual and it's awesome I have an SA 4000 on the way and a Zod Audio DI in transit.
Very happy with the little guys so far :-)

I need to use the Zulu more too. I'm somewhat stuck in my ways so I haven't used it as much as I've wanted.
