How's it running on your mac? Are you using PT? I read that it might not run so well in PT and needs a beefy computer.

Dammit, this plug sounds GREAT. $240 &%*@ NZ dollars and it sounds awesome. I've just replaced an entire chain of plugs on a few tracks with Gold and it sounds WAY BETTER. Electric guitar tracks are just killing through this plug. This, with Neutron placed after it just to clean things up a bit, is so damn good. The EQ's have some crazy mojo going on, might be some of the best emulation I've heard.
I'm gonna have to buy it. Been waiting to jump into a great emulation plug. Haven't gone with any Slate/whathaveyou - this may have been what I was waiting for.

So far the 8122 and H073 EQs are absolutely rocking my socks.
EDIT - can you mix into this thing?? I've got to try it on the 2 bus. I'm usually wary of putting anything but MJUC or the Glue on the bus (until I get an SB4001).
EDIT2 - just tried it, doesn't get the sheen of MJUC, but very in your face adding some low end with the 8122 EQ and then cranking the input set to 8254, attenuated with the output.
VU meters might be a bit buggy at this stage.

I can get fart noises/spikes if I push the input too far. Haven't tried on anything but drums so far - not totally sure what I think about the compressor yet. But the eqs are worth the price of admission. They all actually sound different...which might be a first for me with plugin eqs.

Here you go www.acustica-audio.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=246If you need help with the slightly confusing authorization, I can help. Basically, you download, install, open the DAW and put one of the Gold plugs on, go into the VST/AU/AAX folder and find the .ser file that is generated. Then you register at AA, go to your dashboard, scroll to the bottom and upload the .ser file. Then you will be emailed a .aut file that you put in the same VST/AU/AAX folder. And after those 400 steps, you are golden.

Thanks Johnkenn. Downloading gold and pink trials now. What was that EQ that is a limited edition or whatever that you were raving about last week?

Pearl 2...which they no longer offer. Ridiculous. I think they said they would release it again at some point.

Johnkenn, are you running the Gold on PT? I'm having a bunch of issues with Gold so far where it's just not working right. I was just adjusting the compressor and the sound cut out. Had an issue where I was switching around EQ settings and they just all stopped reacting to movements. Pink has been cool though.

I haven't had any issues...PT 12.6.1 Smooth sailing since posting. I ended up getting an error that the Gold wasn't authorized, rebooted Pro Tools and it worked fine since.

And I can't say I've heard a huge difference by just instantiating the Preamp plugs...but I haven't tried on a whole mix...

And I can't say I've heard a huge difference by just instantiating the Preamp plugs...but I haven't tried on a whole mix... On drum buss the second 8086 (mix) sounded loads punchier than any of the ho73. And one of the compressor pres is brighter than the other Really I'm just encouraging you to keep listening. It's there.

Well, yeah. I didn't say there was no difference. It's just subtle until you strap it on busses.
The bottom end is bigger on the stereo 8066 and thicker with the 2252 and 2254 in the path.

It has removed the headache described above. Download the plugin and authorise with the app. Done.

You see this?
Also, any PT users having issues? I've been reading about spikes that are super loud. I'm curious about this, but don't know if I wanna risk blowing my monitor.

But of propaganda here huh? I think the nicest part of GOLD is the ability to change emulations and get different eq points. That's said, I'll have to try this test for myself.

Any weird volume spikes or crashes? Crashes seem sorted now. I had an issue with the license or something I guess, but rebooting PT fixed the issues. I have gotten a pop that you mention though. Maybe when engaging the compressor. I've mainly been testing remotely with headphones and the pop was annoying, but wasn't often enough where I really took note. I'll have to pay more attention.
