I realize value is a personal perspective but for those who don't like UA's list prices, its best bundle sale is on currently, so now's your chance Messe starts tomorrow, so lets watch that UA space too

I thought at one point they had the 3 for $399 and 6 for $699?

yup it seems they have quietly increased these prices but the lower prices were originally only offered when you registered an apollo, but then they offered them straight up in teh store at least twice too: they keep changing this up.
I think this will be cheapest for now as they have the other plug in deal if you buy an apollo ?

I thought at one point they had the 3 for $399 and 6 for $699? I agree and the " custom bundle " threw me off too, I guess it's Only when purchase an octo or Apollo I saw the 3 for $699 too and thought it was was 3 for $399 6 for 699 10 for $999 but apparently I was wrong...

I think it's 3 for $499 and so on...but I think they've done 3 for $399 before. Think I'll wait for that.

They need a subscription plan. It would probably be about $80 a month though.

Octo is $1000 and Quad is $500 til June 30, 2017...Then are they going to raise it back to $1500/ $1000 ?? I would hope not .. Oh ya On top of that you would have to shell out another $400 for 3 plugs....just is wayyyy too expensive... glad my Apollo had dsp sharks swimming in it because I would not be shelling $1000 for an octo/ Quad... the 3 for $399 would be decent pricing if you didn't have to purchase the dsp device too... Hoping UAD has some cool new innovations coming..

My friend had so many UA plugins, he could only run so many with this Apollo duo. So what do you do. You have to get more processing power.

Actually, it's "saving" $300 on a quad, so $699.

I've been flirting with the idea of changing platforms, or even doing a plugin dump and starting fresh with a select few. I got to looking in my UAD account and I can see all of my plugin purchases with the purchase amounts for each. I may be softening my stance on UA reselling and value.
I have most of the good stuff (without listing the freebies everyone has):
Harrison 32C EMT140 Pultec MKII Neve 33609 1176 MKII LA2A MKII Ampex ATR-102 Helios Type 69 Fairchild MKII Dimension D / Studio D DBX 160 Neve 88RS MKII EP-34 AMS RMX16 Zener Limiter Ampeg B-15N Ampeg SVT-VR Fender '55 Tweed Oxide Tape AKG BX-20 API Vision Fatso Lexicon 224 Manley Massive Passive Neve 1073 MKII Ocean Way Studer A800
Total dollar amount paid: $1215
The single most expensive plug I bought was the Zener Limiter for $149.50. Most everything else was under $100, the majority being under $30 or free.
That's an average of $45 per plug. That's crazy.
A couple of thoughts. I don't think I'll end up selling my UAD stuff. Even though I don't use much of it consistently, it's still an insane value in this case.
As much as I want to be able to sell the stuff I don't use, how would it work if I was allowed to sell plugs that I paid little to no money for (after coupons and UAD sales)? Don't get me wrong, I'd be all in for it. Just don't know how that would work.

@indie while everyone is welcome to their opinion about this, I think your review underscores the point that I have been making for a while, that if you buy carefully, you get get some of the best plugs ins for reasonable money.
Are the cards too expensive, they were and we will see what happens if UA drops a new dual core card soon and if it is priced roughy where current prices are and if the lowered price sticks for the current single chips.
If you tried to sell I think you would find that you would be hard pressed to even get .50 on the dollar.
So, the tougher question is how much or your hard earned money are you prepare to give a way to someone who just wants to low ball you and exactly which plugs will you buy for your roughly $600 that will completely replicate the quality of the plugs in you have now ? ?
Not saying it is impossible but we need to think these things through.
I am having a very positive experience with my softube console 1 mkii, and its $500 usd all by itself, no tax and shipping and has no reverbs, delays, modulation effects, etc.. So, that $600 or so you might get for selling your UA plugs isn't going to go all that far. And if you sell your ua card, you better have a pretty good computer that can take 100% of the dsp load.

Actually, it's "saving" $300 on a quad, so $699. You are correct! I assumed the Quad had the same " price reduction " as the Octo and was mistaken...

I don't quite agree with you here. I think I could at least get my money back out of this plugin list. That would be a pretty good score for somebody just starting out with UAD. And I totally get what you're saying about buying carefully and only buying on good deals. That's exactly what I did. The thing is, it took me 2 years. That's not a realistic option for somebody that needs tools to do a job. It's fine for a hobbyist dude sitting at home on twiddling knobs on his own music. If I were a carpenter and needed a hammer, I have to go out and buy a hammer, not wait around for the hardware store to have a blowout sale. I think I could probably live without UAD plugs now. I was all in with them, but I'm 75% HW now anyways, and with guys like FabFilter, Exponential Audio, Plugin Alliance, etc., I have other options. UAD plugs are still top tier, but the gap has closed between them and other software developers. I doubt I'm gonna sell my UAD plugs. It's a great collection I've acquired at a rock bottom price. Maybe if I jump out of UAD completely, but I don't see myself doing that.

I could get by without UA plugs... but I won't. You'd have to pry them from my cold dead hands For now anyway. That said, we are definitely spoiled these days. So many good plugs by so many great companies. MJUC, Softube & Brainworx, UBK-1, FabFilter, Re-Lab, Exponential Audio, Valhalla... good stuff!

I think in the passed it was easier to get good deals as UAD would overlap discount vouchers. This rarely happens now, so I think for someone getting into them it is not such a good investment. Yes UAD make good plugins but they are not the exclusive high end that they use to be.
