I've used a logitech m570. I DO NOT recommend it. I've bought a couple and they both have some issues with any OSX after mtn lion. I love trackballs when they work well! My favorite way to burn thru an edit screen

My favorite way to burn thru an edit screen svart myself and winetree all gave out out favorite brands and the ines we prefer... Kensington trackballs is proven, whether their cheapest track ball or most expensive customizable one they are fantastic and reliable...

I use a trackball. Kensington. It's the way to go, IMO.

Fun thread. I love this stuff. Maybe I'll get around to doing one of these.I gotta clean the place up first.

Will never be super clean nor fancy/expensive/lusty but this is how I like it, gear works for me, this is what my music area looks like right now. The computer itself is doing a lot and you can't really show that in a picture.

Inspired by the show us your desk thread, and the fact I got a new iPhone SE... 8).... Â I thought I would show you the studio.. from outside and inside.... I showed my mine... show me yours... come on..do a walk around with ya phone... Here's mine. Got any more takers? Let's see your place! drive.google.com/file/d/0Bym1m85ha75RYWxyTnVRZGdEMkU/view?usp=sharingNote: I can't embed it here, but when you click the link, it should play fine in your browser. Also, here's a panoramic shot I took. Kind of grainy, but gives you an idea of the space. 6 months after this is when I found the available, 2300sq ft facility I'm in now. How's times change.

Thanks! pre-dawn lighting may not be ideal and this is always a dim room but I'm glad you get the vibe. Also I said this wasn't expensive, haha, it was incredibly expensive, just thinking about that now.

Thanks ragan! You nailed it, workflow is the name of the game, everything (roughly) in its place, ready to use. Other than those karaoke mics on the piano which will be getting rebuilt into Primo / Transound capsule mics soon. Anything not being used is in a separate "storage" area. It's very small but it's very much a "studio" in the literal sense of that word...a place to work.

I was going to post, but then my ex-wife would see what my studio looks like possibly, and try and go after me again...so, I’m saying once again, **** you *****! Sorry, just grown to hate that woman over the years, need to write a song about her, let’s see... liar, bitch, Death isn’t good enough for you? Those are a few song titles I have for her! Lol! Tempted to put it up and take it down if I could post a pic. It always says file too big, and I’m not video/picture savvy, don’t know how to post it.

If you do decide to post I use imgur but there are a few other image hosting sites out there. Well there are many of them. Then you link them in one by one using the little Picture widget button thingy on RGO. Sorry about your situation I have to be sort of quiet about photos too sometimes, some people are really sensitive about this. Might be obvious to say but don't put anything 'personal' in the photos. Just basic security.

I've seen rooms with lots of wooden diffusors, but this one's different. Instead of the usual small blocks of wood, just looking at all those sticks pointing made me uncomfortable. It looks like thousands of swords in a way.
Think about this, sometimes you walk into a space and just feel good. There are reasons for this. Some people may think it's superstition, but I've found many of the Feng Shui principles I've studied hold some truth. I don't care how good that room may sound, I wouldn't want to be in it.

I was in that room, with wiz, svart and many others a few years ago. It kind of feels like your ears are being sucked or something, odd pressure kind of feeling. No idea what the speakers would sound like though didn't get to hear them. That's george massenburg's room at Blackbird.

No idea what the speakers would sound like though didn't get to hear them. That's george massenburg's room at Blackbird. I haven't been in that room, but years ago a group I was in was looking for a place to record locally. We found these two brothers who had sound-proofed their basement to make their studio. I was too naïve at the time to take in what the treatment was, but whatever they had done made it closer to an anechoic chamber than a recording studio. What monkeyxx describes is exactly what I felt. Abnormally uncomfortable, and a feeling of "I've got to get out of here". They played some electronic keyboard while we were there, and that didn't even sound good. It was like the notes barely existed long enough for your ears to really hear them. Maybe with headphones on it would have been tolerable.

I guess my old pictures were hosted at my old website and are now gone. Here's pics from last year, but I've already changed so much! I'm almost done putting the studio back together for my next session next week, so I'll take some new pics.

That "problematic "space is way better than the tight corner in my living room where I have a desk squeezed in with gear on it ! My "space" will definitely help you all appreciate what you have it's so minimal, to put it nicely ;-) Attachments:
