I'm making plans to upgrade my production desk. My current setup drives me insane and makes being creative a real pain in the neck. i'm thinking I'll base the build around the jarvis frame (mechanized frame that can raise into a standing desk and lower as needed) www.fully.com/jarvis-frame-only.htmlI also want a sliding digital piano drawer mounted under the desk so I have more space available on the top of the desk when not using keys. Wondering what you guys are using.

This sure looks nice, no? www.soundconstructionsupply.com/wp-content/uploads/Keyboard-Desk-88-4x2-Walnut-Front-Left-Empty-DrawerOut.jpgThis is a pic of mine....a while back, when I first sold all the rack gear and consolidated the 88key to having one "station" in the room. goo.gl/photos/RhzQfYF3dt8WRQxy8I had to move the legs on the desk to get the Kronos up under....and had planned to build a drawer, but honestly--the stand is more stable than a drawer likely will be, and it's really tight up under there....I drew up plans for a sliding drawer with a pole coming down to a platform on the floor on bearings....because I have three pedals. THat's actually the only functional issue I have with the "X stand" under....is that I pull the keyboard out and the platform of pedals stay back.....and kinda slides around as I play....I need to at least rig up some way to fix IT to the stand so they slide together....as you can see it staying out when I slide the 88 back under: goo.gl/photos/2jDRPBHEvNRAmkmL9

Built this desk around 10 years ago. Center section detaches from each side so I can reconfigure it without destroying the top.

How do you like those BF 45's?

Really enjoying the Barefoots. Switched from a pair of Focal Solo 6's I'd had for a while. These seem to suit my ears much better.

The Argosy desk I have here has been great. In the middle I have a Mackie control and computer keyboard. And two additional Argosy rack units to the left and right of the main desk house additional gear and my patchbay

Really wish I had a piano drawer. it's easily fixed John Drawer rails and three planks and you are home. I did a small variation so I can fit a MIDI piano or keyboard.

drumrec that is awesome. are there any plans/specs you could share? my current is a solid-core door on two z-stands. the racks narrowly fit between them so they are down below. would love to get them up top like this.

Thanks John! Nope, I have not done any drawing. I took a 3 unit 19 "rack blank panel to my cottage and then I built only on inspiration (and some whiskey). But I can take a little more close, steady pictures and you'll see how easy it is built, if you would be interested, no problemo maestro

Wondering what you guys are using. Still pretty old school here. I have a Sony MXP3036 which is interfaced to a Radar Studio which will run any PC DAW as well as the Radar software. Still not comfortable mixing and recording "in the box". However, I started recording back in the day with a 4 track. I have two external racks on each side. One with 2 of our MT8016 preamps, two modified LA610 preamps and two custom 1073 clones. The rack on the other side has 2-LA4 compressors, a WA76 compressor plus some outboard FX. There is enough room under the patchbay in the MXP3036 to fit two highly upgraded LA4 compressors and an 1178 stereo (1176) compressor. Cheers, Dave Thomas aamicrophones.com Attachments:

Silly question: do VU meters work correctly on slanted racks? I'm supposing they do...

Kind of a poor picture of mine, but you can see what it is. It's just rebar I welded together to make a "table" of sorts to fit the mixer, with some extensions to mount the monitor panel on.

I'm shocked Svart... must be like mechanics driving vehicles that are in a constant state of repair...
