Yeah that just what i was thinking too. The AMI body is a bit better priced from what I remember. I have a Ef12 build going ahead but am just using the body that Stam and everyone else is using. I'm sure in a few years the GA body will also become available too. Which body is that? This is the Stam style body. store.studio939.com/

Seems to be some guts missing from that GA...

I think it's frankly pretty damn exciting to see GAP doing a "premier" line. This niche of not-the-cheapest-possible-but-not-esoterically-boutique is something I can really get behind. Between Warm, GAP and Stam, one can get some serious sonics going for very reasonable coin. And those guys all competing against each other only helps us end users. Interesting times in the recording gear paradigm.

Why that one in particular wine tree? I'm not very informed on U47 esoterica, but it does look good.

No kidding! That's very interesting and priced pretty on par with Stam's 47, after forking over a hundo for shipping. That bright orange mic cable though...gawdy. I am hesitant to be a beta tester for GAP stuff, though. It's just too associated with cheap chinese knock-off's in my mind. I get that they're trying to reinvent a high end line of products. And good on them for keeping the prices reasonable. Cosmetically it looks great, but the capsule doesn't look convincing to me. It looks to be of Chinese origin. With the stam you know what you are getting. Where do Stam’s Capsules come from? I don’t think he makes them:right ? Just curious, not arguing

Stam uses Dany Bouchard. I think the original plan was Heiserman, but I think there was difficulty getting the volume. Not sure.

Stam uses Dany Bouchard. I think the original plan was Heiserman, but I think there was difficulty getting the volume. Not sure. Stam chooses capsules for sound quality, not availability, although of course availability is a factor.

I thought the inference was how many could be produced, when to satisfy Stam's production schedule ?

It's interesting/relevant/funny to me to listen to pop music like this with that huge 10K whistle-spike thing going on.
Makes me realize even my brightest condenser vocal mic is not "too bright" like I sometimes fear it is. People are going much farther, on purpose.

Wha??? You mean, people are putting out major label releases recorded with an Apollo? Blasphemy.
Seriously though, sounds great!

The power supply looks beautiful. Which is important, to me. I can't stand a skimped-on PSU. It's bloody awful. This one looks great.

fwiw...here's a shot of the artist during the recording of the track. He was 2.5-3' off the mic, cardioid, Drive mode, 1 dB compression, into a Pultec (-2 dB at 60 Hz, +2 dB at 12 kHz) into the Apollo. The ES-335 is tied to an amp out the live room.

Cool. Is there reverb on that or is that actually what that room sounds like? Very lively decay on the snare especially.

Add another REDD to that room and we're cooking.
