Awesome Tommy! How many did you end up getting? Post pics along with your thoughts!!! Cheers, bp I ended up with 6, drbill. I'm rebuilding my recording setup and preamp collection from scratch with these. I may end up with another two, if I can get the money before the end of the preorder period. So far, I've got 2 implode, 2 massdrivr, and 2 Fet Filters.

Although for drum tracking another two FET Filters could be killer. Two set to 330 Hz cut, and two set to 500 Hz cut. That's probably how I would do it. Brad

I've been searching for saturation options, so this seems like a good route. If you had an N flavored MassDrivr, I'd likely go with that. Then again, we'll see what cooks with the Fet Filters I've got.

Tommy Harron drbill - It seems like a lot of guys are really interested in the more subtle line stage cards. I might be in the minority. I'm most excited by the EQ and compression options. Tell me what kind of plugin modules you want to see designed for your Chromas and it could happen. Brad

Well....you already know what I want / like. But yeah, I'm with you. Subtle is not what I'm after. After going thru a Chroma during tracking, a Chroma or SB on a Mix element, a SB on the mix bus, and a SB during mastering.....I've got "subtle" covered - as I don't tend to smash hard on any of those stages. What is fun is compression / EQ / FX options. The MassDrivr's are cool, but they fall into the subtle camp and therefore not critical for me as I've got several line amp stages between the Chroma / SB workflow for me. The Implodes and perhaps Pentodes and RTAirs are what are exciting me right now. And of course those "other" options that are in the works...... I need to try the Pulse, but I need more Chroma's for that.

Brad It's the first thing I thought of when I saw the format, a box with multiple different color modules that one could switch from module to module without plugging or unplugging a module would have a broad Mainstream appeal! Plus think of how cool it would be to switch from color to color on the fly!

Hello Brad, This is Cristian from Romania (actually is UK now). The guy with the D&R Vision if you remember. I just learned about Chroma and I'm so impressed. What do you think about a triode Colour complementary for Pentode? Did you ever considered this? korgnutube.com/en/

Cool. I like the Mass Drivr's, but I think I favor the implodes a bit more personally. At least for the mixing work I've been doing as of late. They work really good with the mix control. Enjoy!!

Hi, everyone. Sorry it's taken a bit for me to post this, but it's now out. I used my six Chromas in N mode for this contemporary classical piece: Spotify: Apple: itunes.apple.com/us/album/china-gates-single/1325824867I'm working on another piece with the same pianist, but including a vibraphonist. I used the A mode on that recording. It should be out early next year. Please let me know what you think. Tommy

Hey guys!! Just a quick shout-out for a great review of the Silver Bullet that Sound On Sound (SOS) did. The editors actually made it a "free" view (most cost you a nominal fee) and IMO it really hit the sweet spots of the unit. For those interested : www.soundonsound.com/reviews/louder-liftoff-silver-bulletCheers, bp PS - I never knew we had created a "distortion processor" though...LOL Still...even with that I was impressed with how they really "got it". Informative review.

Hi, everyone.
Here's the second piece I mentioned before:
Here I used the Chromas in A mode to record the piano, vibraphone and room mics. Much brighter and faster transient pickup compared to the last piece I recorded, "China Gates."
Let me know what you think!
Cheers, Tommy

Let me know what you think! Definitely, very much faster than N mode. But Chroma sounds good both ways, although I think I prefer A mode. I'd like to hear loud guitar through one!

Where in the signal path is the Colour module? While getting ready to order a pair of Chromas, I’m thinking of getting a DIYRE Colour Palette for more LTL modules. How well will that work after the Chroma?

The color slot is AFTER the main A/N gain stages and output, and BEFORE the EQ. Hope that helps.
Yes the Colour Pallet should work fine.
