Hmm Interesting link so by sharing that you seem to be endorsing that a summing mixer is a STUDIO ESSENTIAL Also wouldn't a Silver Bullet be 'better' for the output so 16 Chromas (Chromi?) and one SB! All kidding aside just curious about the MassDriver since it's like an api type line amp does adding it to the "A" tone amp make the sound even more in that camp or more like a vintage A or just something different all together? I would say it makes it more like a full API channel...two transformers, two op amps, one of which is more modern sounding (Rogue Five) and the other is more vintage (Rogue Six). It's just going to be another layer of API tinted sonic varnish. I made some effort to tweak the transformer so that it had a really solid bottom end even when breaking up. I had a lot of fun driving distorted bass through it. Like the name alludes you can really push this module and get some "mass" out of sounds. I compared it to the vintage 325 card I have racked up and it had a very similar vibe and tone. Perhaps drbill can comment since he's spent more time with it lately. By the way, thanks for the compliments on the video guys. ChaseUTBBrad

BradM, really cool to hear more about the MassDrivr! When you do you guess the preorder units will ship?

BradM , really cool to hear more about the MassDrivr! When you do you guess the preorder units will ship? Hi Tommy, It should be about 6 weeks from now (give or take) assuming everything goes smoothly. Historically I've been conservative on my shipping estimates so that I always beat my target. I just received word that my PCBs shipped out to my assembly today so things are moving along. Brad

Who wants to hear a clip of Chroma in N mode vs. the RND 511 with Silk?

Can we do a demo unit to pass around like the gear with friends on the EQ?

Okay guys, let's have some fun. RND 511 with Silk or Chroma with Rogue-Tec Air? One of these tracks is a control and is related to one of the others. No anaylzing levels. Just use your ears. Chroma or RND 511 AChroma or RND 511 B
Chroma or RND 511 C
And to really mix things up (literally), here's a comp of two of those tracks. I made 6 cuts and alternated between Chroma and RND 511. Chroma RND 511 Medleyguitfiddler - I may do that at some point. I need to get through production first. Brad

I preferred clip A. It was hitting harder on the bottom. Not going to make any guesses which was which since I have no idea.

Kept telling me 404 not found, I cannot access the clips... iPhone They should be up now. I had to redo them because I realized there was something not right about them in terms of level. I also wanted to add a third track, which you can think of as a control. I added a fourth track as well, which is a mix of the two units that cuts back and forth between the clips six times. Without cheating and doing analysis on the WAV files, which two files are the same unit? Guitar - you may want to re-listen to these new uploads. Brad

A has more air , crisp, cuts like hot knife in butter B has more girth and punch in the lows, rounder, more firm, but not overdone C is either the control or the medley?
I'm not sure because when I click RnD and chroma medley it just links to this thread...
Both sound great to me 😀🏋️

So at first I thought A had more low end and B and C had more tightening in low freq but I keep listening and I cannot tell a sizable diference.

I think A and C are the same. B has a little more action going on in the snare and hi hats, a little more crispy cut.

It's always cool to hear other's perspectives. A and B sounded the most similar to me, with C being slightly different - almost a bit more "open" to me. All sound great, however.

Quick listen and think B and C are the same. I preferred B over A. jcoutu1 , can you describe what you like about B versus A? Just took another listen and agree with my assessment. B and C are the same. They sound a little more smooth on top to my ears. A could very easily sound better with a different source, but on this, I'm liking A. Who knows though, could be totally wrong.
